I really don't understand all of the fuss about this issue. Why do boys refuse to even consider the idea of living with their wife on their own for the first few years of marriage, and then ask their parents to move in when they are in need of care? This is the Islamic way of doing things.
To Anil and the other "boys" here (I saw very few men who were actuallly mature enough to be married reply in this forum) - do remember when you marry that your wife's parents have just as much right over her as your parents have over you. You may not stop her from visiting her family or helping them in any way that she can. If they are in financial need, you should either be prepared to help out, or allow her to find employment so that she may help out. Fear Allah (SWT).
