LAHORE: Local authorities dug up the grave of an Ahmadi girl in a Muslim graveyard in Chanda Singh village, Kasur, 10 days after her death and moved her body to an Ahmadi cemetery under pressure from clerics.
Kasur DPO Captain (r) Mobeen Ahmed supervised the reburial on March 18, Daily Times has learnt. District police officials confirmed the report and conceded that it was done under pressure from the Majlis-e-Tahafuz-e-Khatam-e-Nabuwat and local clerics.
Nadia Hanif, 17, died of an illness on March 8. She had been running an SOS village school and used to teach kids the Quran. “No one objected to her being buried here at the time,” her elder brother told Daily Times. Several Muslims attended her funeral, he added, though the local imam refused to offer Namaz-e-Janaza for the girl. After the funeral, extremists started protesting against her burial in a Muslim graveyard. A local cleric also got a fatwa from Saadat Ali Qadri, who runs a seminary, stating that Ahmadis cannot be buried in a Muslim graveyard and digging up the body is permissible.
Inalillahe Wainailayhe RajayooN. May Allah forgive the sins of the girl and also of those who objected to her burial.
Ahmadis don't take all their burials to Rabwah. There is a graveyard there called bahisti maqbra, which is specific for those who take an oath in their lifetime to live their lives a purified way and go an extra mile in piety. Those individuals get to be buried in that graveyard. Though as a matter of logistics sometimes it is not possible to be buried there for those who take that oath, so they are buried wherever possible. I buried a friend in Louisiana a couple of years back, while many of my relatives are buried in Lahore, Sialkot etc.
There is no obligation for Ahmadis to bury their dead in a specific place. Though the prescribed Islamic way is mandatory.
Since AJ clarified this - so the above mentioned point is not valid anymore
Its just jahiliyat nothing else.
Generalizing the rest of pakistani muslims and Imams etc. based on this once incident is not proper. The individual who did that is solely responsible himself for misguiding the people and using his influence.
We have not learned when whole cities were turned into graveyard just 6 months ago, All women children and men were buried alive without any differenciation of religion.
We might learn our lesson the day Someone will carpet bomb our cities and villages and all the muslims, christian, sikh, ahmadies will be burried alongside, under the rubble and shells
While I don’t think Ahmedis are Muslims, it certainly is very wrong and shameful and disgusting what happened.. the family is suffering enough, they should not have to go through additional pain that these ghatya number2 people put them through. Pakistan has so many social evils, why waste time rubbing salt in the wound of an innocent family??
