i'm **NOT**** commenting on the *incident* which is obviously *ridiculous*.
i'm gonna say something from the *'linguistic'* point of view. there is no the words *"lanat" and "na't"* [as handwritten in urdu] is quite different. they are written like this when they are typed:
la'nat = لعنت na'at = نعت****
lafz-e-"la'anat لعنت]" meN Harf-e-"ai'n" aur "te" ke beech ek *"shosha [curve"* hai...jab k lafz-e-"na'at [نعت] meN koii shosha nahiiN...they look different...it's NOT just a matter of 'placing a DOT' at a wrong place like is the case in:

I do remember mujhy Urdu main Falto shoshey dalny ki buhat ada i and I have made he same mistake. Ammi ne aik capat lagai thi sir per aur kah ayeh kiya likh ahai nothing else even ammi ko hansi bhi a gai thi ke. I was insisting sahih tu likha hai bs saja/decorate ker diya hai os ko. aoni janmain main Sadqain style of KHATATI apn arahi thi

Extremely pathetic. Makes me wonder how will Allah give these people hidayat? Ruining and putting a child's life in danger and creating an issue out of nothing is the IN thing in pakistan nowadays.

I'd say that if you have something that can enlighten someone and help them to leave their ignorance behind then by not sharing it you are more at fault than them......

ok, here is thing nothing drastically changed they way about blasphemy.
When we were growing up there were 2 blasphemous people in the world
salman-rushdi and some-thing Nasreen.
They were "wajib-ul-qatal" to us, but they were like demons hiding in the distant planets
so it had no effect on our society,
Now we have 2 issues here
1-Our under standing about the issue.
Its like jihad, long time ago every one use to get high on the word jihad. Now after people abusing this idea so much(suicide bombing etc ),
that now We as a society re-evaluated the word Jihad. I bet today pakistani people are more mature about what is the actual jihad then
they were ever before.
See all of those muslims who are willing to accept more stiff approach on the matter, if they were actually exposed to the
consequences of such law(and its implementation) on non-muslim families, would have mush softer stance. Stance, just like
we do here at GS.
Its like when I visited Jails with a study group, I was exposed to life of people on death row etc..
2-And why all of a sudden their is a rise in such cases.
I don't why is that, I am not Einstein.
Some of those cases(not this one though) could be low level animal like people trying to take revenge
for some thing personal from a non-muslim. And with increasing cases they now know what kind of power
they have over non-muslims.
