Re: Girl accused of blasphemy for a spelling error
Honestly speaking, it's hard to imagine an Eight grader making a mistake between laanat and naat in Pakistan (it isn't just a nukta like KKF implied).
However it's not impossible and punishing the child for it is beyond retarded. Forget the extremists who are confirmed retards, the overreaction by the teacher and principal in this case is even more disturbing.
Re: Girl accused of blasphemy for a spelling error
Pakistan is adha teeter adha batair . If it was true Islamic state , there would be no injustice, no extremism . A true Islamic state is supposed to be real secular state. Since this girl and her mother apologized for an unintentional mistake , In a true Islamic state they would have been pardoned and would maintain their dignity.

What an oxymoron!
How can Islamic state be secular? Unless you meant to say something else. Besides, I don't feel they should have been even asked to apologize. It was a mistake. A mistake is a mistake and it wasn't a meditated one. And it's not like she needed to repent for her sins.
Re: Girl accused of blasphemy for a spelling error
What else do you expect in a country where your love for the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is assessed on the basis of whether you keep a beard like him and whether you hang your trousers above your ankles, but not by whether you act like Muhammad (PBUH) or you forgive like Muhammad (PBUH).
Only these radical Muslims would assume God & Prophet to be so insecure that they need to “protect” their honour from the conduct of a child... Wretched Thaikeydaars of Islam!
Re: Girl accused of blasphemy for a spelling error
Did anyone even read this part . I personally think that POF admin did a good job by taking enough action to put a lid on otherwise violent reaction by some fundamentalist public elements. WHat admin did is to transfer the mom away from the known crowd to prevent her for any possible hate crime. Same with expelling the girl. She can go to another school where people may not be aware of this incident.

Re: Girl accused of blasphemy for a spelling error
Yeah but it shouldn’t have blown out of proportion in the first place. The teacher and principal could have dealt with it much better. If it was a mistake, ignored it and if it was deliberate then maybe give her a lecture on how one should be respectful of of other religions instead of letting the fanatics get a hang of the situation.
Re: Girl accused of blasphemy for a spelling error
With so much publicity , media coverage and real names and identities revealed , do you think that those extremist fundamentalists will relax. Pretty soon they will be calling for a case to be registered or some extremist morons might file a case. I hope and pray that this ends here. Ameen.
Re: Girl accused of blasphemy for a spelling error

True, who is to say she's any safer now and other Christians/minorities won't be targeted for hate crime as a result of this.
Re: Girl accused of blasphemy for a spelling error
I'd like to have someone go interview this teacher and principal...........ask them what they hoped to accomplish with these actions.....
sad to see this sort of stuff can happen in an educational institute at the hands of those that we trust to teach our kids right from wrong.
That's what irks me about this news story... while many of us have condemned the execution of the blasphemy law before, it's the context of this case that is bothersome. Didn't the teacher or the principal have the brains to discuss and confer the benign nature of this mistake and stop the word from getting out? Why was this even made into an issue in the first place?
