Makhdoom Shahabuddin (Rahimyar Khan) and Ch Ahmed Mukhtar (Gujrat) are in race for the PM slot. Can Zardari pull up another surprise here?

or perhaps PPP got what they wanted (and hence they did not appeal). They wanted a Siyasi Shaeed's body to take to voters....

i dont think this syasi shahadat will work in three provinces (because of the energy crisis), in Sindh they will get their seats which they already win. SC disqualified him at a very appropriate time, when the people were already very angry with the government.

I think that the SC has very bad timing.....and they are very obviously pandering to the opposition (read PML-N).
If this decision was realistic, it should have come out the moment the appeal deadline expired for Gillani, as that is the reason SC has cited to declare him ineligible. However, the SC used the case against the NA speakers ruling to come up with this surprise.
I dont understand the logic behind such a stunt just 8 months before the general elections. The judiciary must remain free of all political influence, and this judiciary is certainly not.

Ummm... I think that award goes to Benazir. More than corruption, this guy's incompetence and loyalty to President rather than to Pakistan hurt us.

So next time while issuing a sentence or decision on some case SC should do the following:
1) Call the weather department and see if it is going to nice and sunny
2) Call the enemy states and ask them if they are going to attack tomorrow
3) Call the politicians and ask their point and ask for the political consequences of the decision
4) Call the "Mulzim" and ask if the time is right
and if everything goes fine, they should announce the verdict!!! otherwise just delay the justice as it has been the case since current judiciary has taken over!!!
