Chocolates, perfume and makeup for the girls.. my dad has a habit of buying watches for ppl as well.. not sure why.. some of my relatives ask for digital cameras or phones (and in one case a laptop :mad:).. If they’re close we’ll get them a nice camera or something..

well i'll say chocolates.....because uk ones are original thus better in taste.....the one in pakistan are either of low quality or out of the price range....when i came to pakistan i brought 1 pound choc packs from cheap stores and everyone in pakistan LOVED them. halanke to me they costed very very less compared to if i had gone for a 6-8pounds wala pack.

us ke illawa i'll say scents/perfumes..bcoz the actual ones are really expensive in pak.

take some chocolates and give some cash, it is a hassle taking stuff from here.

for adults... perfumes or some sort of cosmetics.

Yeah, we said no to lappy.. cameras and phones we buy.. but not often.. and only if we're close to them..

nothing .. they dont appreciate the time effort spend in getting their gifts .. if u must give somehting cold hard cash is wht they really want nywayzz ..

Well well, let's not generalize. I agree that some people are like that, but not everyone is.

I have said what I have purely out of my experience and what I have seen many others around me experience in their life time .. those people who dont do much gifting have ended up with much better relationships in Pakistan , then those who used to visit them with bags full of stuff !

I thinks its not even about gifting anymore, its more about how we as humans have become so selfish that we dont see a gift as a gift anymore , no matter how little or tiny it is, we do not value the intention and place more value on the gifted item itself !

My point exactly. This is a general disease which is not only limited to the people living in Pakistan.
