Gift dillema... Helllllll pppppp

Guys … I am soon going to be visiting home and havnt got a clue what to take for two most important ladies in my life :

my mom
my mother in law… ??

England based guppies , please tell me and save the day …

Thanks in advance …

Perfume

Suit

I need something unique na .. something heart touching ... I always end up taking perfumes /purses/suits for them ....

they are both in their late 50's .. and least interested in perfumes and purses ... or even suits for that matter ...

so I need ideas or any good deals any one might seen recently with maybe some kitchen appliances or anything useful?

Re: Gift dillema... Helllllll pppppp

Body Shop have the most cutest little Mother's day hampers/gift sets at the moment.

Flowers

Book a day out, for the near future, to a spa. You can take both ladies alongside yourself.

Make your own little food hamper- bake a cafe/muffins/cookies, add a nice pot of jam, honey, sweets, chocolates, chocolates and more chocolates,

Jewellery- bracelet/earrings

I think the most important thing is just being there. I am sure that will suffice :)

I am not going to be home in time for Mother's Day:(

Re: Gift dillema... Helllllll pppppp

OOooo and make up- get their favourite make up item/s

She’s talking two old ladies here, not two kids :smack:

:hehe:

Stop complaining now , you little bugger .. :pkj: :smilestar:

Re: Gift dillema… Helllllll pppppp

They don’t have to be jelly beans and gummy bears:smack: Thorntons do lovely ‘posh’ boxed chocolates/fudge and it can be presented in a nice box/woven basket. This is one idea which can be varied to age and gender.

:naraz: I thought it was a nice idea. I did it for my daadijaan a while back when she was not well

:hehe: just being an arse basically  The thing is, I am also planning to visit home in 2 or 3 weeks Inshallah, and I have absolutely no idea what to take for my old lady :bummer:

Aww DDR .. Mothers day is always so emotional ! but hey , cheer up .. moms are always close to the heart no matter where they live ...

I like the hamper idea .. whats usually in those hampers , any idea?

:omg: jelly beans and gummy bears!!

Yeah the idea isn’t really bad, but the old ladies in my family are all diabetics :smack: I cant expect to take chocolates home to them and come back alive :bummer:

I saw that confusion coming ! why else would you be found in here … :omg: ..
secretly trying to steal away some ideas from all the lovely people in here … eh?

Well… you are in Dubai , that place is full of beautiful gift ideas … I am thinking hard and will let you know if any striking ideas come up …

The Body Shop or the other one? The food ones you can construct yourself.

My mum is not too keen on Mother’s Day. She always says I would rather you were well behaved all year round:omg: I will be home next week though inshallah:hula:

I have bullied my sister into making breakfast in bed for my parents, as that is what I normally do. However, my mum normally ends up making my sister’s breakfast:rofl: So fingers crossed she wakes up in time:smack:

Oh and add handbags/purse to your list

:hehe:

Yes please do! you will be a life saver!

Jaanwar. is your mom pretty traditional lady ? I mean , my mom is like simple to the core .. she doesnt wear jwellery / heavy clothes/ makeup … she has her stuff which lasts her years .. and doesnt get excited at the usual ladies stuff ..

but since she cooks , but finds it hard to cut vege’s and all … I gifted her automatic knife set , she fell in love with it.. there was this shop in Deira , where i bought it from .. you might check on internet …

also you might wanna take any other automated kitchen appliances to ease her life in the kitchen …

Yeh in that case no sweet stuff.

In that case for your ammi how about something from the following make up/handbag/shoes/purse/jewellery/perfume/clothes?

If you want something slightly personalised, how about a nice picture which means something to you or your mum on a canvas or in a picture frame.

Vases are always cool too or anything for the home. Get them something they need or will use:)
