Gift dillema... Helllllll pppppp

Yeah you are right … … whats gotten into people these days !

Back to the topic then:hula:

What are you leaning towards buying?

Yeah , I am constantly looking for some good deals for electronic appliances , eg : I know my mom has some arm muscle issues and finds it hard to iron , so i am thinking to taking a steamer perhaps … or any other kitchen automated small appliances … cant think of any though , still looking !

got any ideas there ?

the same is the issue with my MIL …

I always end up taking clothes/makeup/jwellery/perfumes/creams/purses and both of them they collect these things and gift them off to younger girls in the family ! and last year I got really angry with both of them and thy both had the same answer : ham simple hi achay hein !!

Then i ended up taking some gold items for them ! but want some change this time ..

cant cook for them coz you know the excitement when we open our bags as soon aswe get home from the airport and share all these wonderful gifts and say : aap kai liye mama /papa .. and they feel so proud and taken care of …

although this time when I visit my mom in dubai , I will ensure I cook for her lots for my two week stay … ! I am like your sister !

Yup, she’s all traditional. Pretty much like yours, so yea your ideas will certainly be of help here  I am not sure if I can go and pick some useful appliances, I will end up buying some futuristic looking gadget and she will have absolutely no use for that :hehe:

Shoes and bags - thats what I always take for her :hehe: I am sure she is getting fed up of the idea, but is too polite to say it :hehe:

:smack: this is tough business!

Why dont you take some gold item for her … if you havnt already … maybe a gold locket or just earings …

I gifted my MIL this last time … she was happy …

also , there is this toby travel steamer … heard really good things about it .. smple to use and clean … basically it is easy ironing , steaming bedsheets etc … will help mom in the day to day cleaning stuff without putting in too much effort …

I also gifted my elderly khala an automatic food slicer … and she totally loved it … very easy to use … just three speed selection buttons and one power button …

Take a Lebanese wife!

Jaanwar, u can take sugar-free chocolates!

*[mod]Guys, please refrain from unnecessary comments/personal attacks...this thread is about gift ideas. *[/mod]

ok go on :D...

Thanks Gina .. I like the idea of tea set ... but the weight issues ... they only allow 20KG ! that alone will weight about 7-8 kg's or more ...

so I am decided on one thing , I am taking the Tobi travel steamer for my mom and a shirt and a tie for dad ...

and a Jafferjees leather wallet and Key chain holder , engraved with his name ... for my FIL

still thinking of what to do for my MIL .... England just doesnt have enough variety when it comes to gifts ! Everything we get from here is so expensive that can be found in peanuts cost in pakistan .. !

hmm ... the things you have gifted so far seem nice actually ... where abouts is your MIL , perhaps we can think together and find something for the important ladies :-)

Re: Gift dillema... Helllllll pppppp

LOL she's in Uk croydon

UK… :cb: now that complicates the matter a little .. let see , **DDR and Gina ** had some really good suggestions, the bodyshop ones, and massager may be …

mine is in lahore , and simple to the core .. so i have to look for simpler things …

Re: Gift dillema… Helllllll pppppp

Jaanwar

In that case you are better off getting something to which can be used in the house or kitchen. How about something like a hand blender/electrical whisk/water filter/tea or dinner set/vases/photo frame. Oh and I still say shoes or chappal

To be honest you can get everything in Pakistan virtually. Ask your mum what she would like. You never know, there may be something which she would like and it does not hurt to ask

CB- I never realised you would be travelling. I thought they would be residing here:smack: So who do you need gift ideas for now?

Re: Gift dillema… Helllllll pppppp
