Don't know what ahi is but watch out for all that mercury. Should switch to Wild Salmon or Tilapia. :)

You’re right, it needs to have scales to be halal, with the exception of shellfish. Whales do not have scales, so that would be a :nono:

I’m surprised none of our resident McMolvis jumped onto this…

I forgot the scales thing but did question its being halaal as it was dead for a few days.
They won’t use it for eating its flesh but for other commercial items such as oil and feed for other animals, I heard.

The link that I posted talked about when Sahaba found a huge dead fish and ate it for days, and later when told Prophet , he approved of it.

where people are discussing how polluted the water was or whether it's ok to kill an endangered species or not we are fighting whether it's halal or haram to eat that fish lolz

Fish was already dead. No one killed it. I think they pulled the fish out at Keemari which is the shipyard so the water is polluted.

^ TLK there is a lot of speculation over there and apparently there is no evidence that the fish was already dead, that's why there are a thousand replies on the msnbc site about that topic but as I said we are only worried about whether that fish can be consumed or not :)

I believe that hadith is zaeef.

You are only allowed to eat murdaar if your life depends on it.
