Never seen so many people worked up on a dead fish :smack:, around a thousand comments in this article and some of them are plainly ridiculous. If only people have shown such passion for the killings in Iraq and Afghanistan

for the record...a whale is not a fish. it is a mammal that gives birth to live offspring, breath in air through lungs, have a four chambered heart and mammary glands.

and yes, the killings in Iraq/Afghanistan/Sudan/Somalia/East L.A./Timbaktu are very distressing indeed and deserve the utmost compassion. but this world we live in is not just black and white. it is made up of a myriad of colors and ecompasses all of Allah's creations. and a whale shark that lost it's life is just as deserving of our compassion as an army general or civilian.

have you ever seen a whale in its natural surroundings/habitat? it's one of the most beautiful and awe inspiring sights ever. more proof of Allah SWT's glory.

You’re right, it needs to have scales to be halal, with the exception of shellfish. Whales do not have scales, so that would be a :nono:

This whale shark was already dead in open waters when they pulled it to the harbor. It won't be safe to consume anyways.
On a side note how polluted is the water around that dock. Disgusting!!

This is a Whale Shark though, not a Whale.

The Whale is not a fish, its a mammal. So it doesn’t need scales to be declared Halal.
