ghosts

as far as i understand in Islam we believe in the unseen, but not in ghosts

you always here a lot of spooky stories that have no plausible explanation…i attribute it to maybe jinns or something

but regardless they are always stories about hauntings and whatnot

has anyone ever encountered hadith or does anyone know what the islamic perspective is on stuff like this?

Re: ghosts

Summary:

Jinn are for real.
There is a surah Jinn in Quran.
Shaitaan is one of the Jinns.
There are numerous places in Quran talking about Jinns.
Surah Naas comes to mind as well..
In surah Baqarah Jinns are mentioned. If I remember correctly, in this surah, there is a parable of a person whom jinns have made lost his way in a jungle - talking about person who does not have imaan.
Jinns working under Prophet Suleyman:as: are also mentioned.

Re: ghosts

What other para-normal beings are there (according to Quran):
- Angel
- Jinn (including satan)
- Soul / Rooh

anything else I am missing? What is ROOH anyway?

Re: ghosts

17:85 They ask thee (O’ Muhammad:saw: ) concerning the ROOH. Say: “The ROOH (cometh) by command of my Lord: of knowledge it is only a little that is communicated to you, (O men!)”

Re: ghosts

So Mr Anwar sahaab hve u ever seen a single jinn in ur life.If jinns are made up of fire why we cant see them(yea tu wohi baat hoye ke hum yea kahin k sooraj aaag se bana hai aur humhe daikhai nahi daita) why allah hide them if Alllah also addressing them in quran.why jinn hve more power than human beings.aur in ka kainaat main kia function hai Allah tu yea hi kah raha hai k hum nay is kainaat ko bhaq paida kia is k bawajoood aag se banaye hoye chiz humhe nazar nahi aty.Allah k qool aur fail main koi tazaad nahi agar jinn aag se banaye hai tu yea tazaad paida hoo gaya wase app ka elim sirf ek circle main ghoom raha hai app ko yea batain kahan samjh ayeen gaye is liye tu app soonaye soonaye batao per yaqeen kar laitay hai phir is ko ummaat ijma kahtay hai wahaan jawab nahi baan para tu pervaiz saahaab ko beech main laye aye kahtay hai kawa chala haas k chaal aur apni chaal bhi bhool gaya

Re: ghosts

There is a difference between ghost stories and the creation off Jinn, one is peoples over active imagination, while the latter is has real as me and you.

Re: ghosts

abey tujay kis nay azad kar dia?

Re: ghosts

Fitna-monger. :D

Re: ghosts

AQ bhai, this all i know, but thank you, nonetheless :)

My question i guess is more like...there are these bizarre things that happen that are more or less frightening and the answer a lot of people use to explain these phenomenons is "ghosts"...so can we say, besides overactive imaginations, that a lot of these occurances are due to the jinn?

Re: ghosts

Yes…

there are good and bad jinns both which you know…

There is something called Magic/Jaadu… Quran tells us that Magic (black Magic) came from two sources.. one were the Jinns under prophet Sulyeman:as: and the second were two angels Haaroot and Maaroot sent as a test… they used to tell people that while learning black magic nullifies one imaan, it is prohibitted to learn it… and the choice was poeple’s own…

Every sifli amal/black magic has shayaateen jinns attached to it and they carry out all that bizzare things after someone does the magic.. basically, these jinns are under the command of the magician and the SIFLI AMAL he does (which sometimes is disgusting, as so I found out) directs the Jinn to act accordingly.. such Jinnat are called Mo’akkilaat (Singular Mo’akkil)

by the way there are good jinns associated with different quranic surahs also such as Yaseen, Fatiha etc…

Now that I have explained it… watch how I am being hammered by the guppies here:D

Re: ghosts

`The Little Devils.'
Hadhrat Umar (R.A) has said that the children of shaitaan are many from which nine are prominent : Zaleetoon, Watheen, Laqoos, Ra'waan, Haffaaf, Murrah, Mussawwit, Daasim, Walhaan. Each of their occupations and methods of leading people astray are different.

1) Zaleetoon's occupation is to sit in the streets and at shops with his fellow companions, spreading mischief and evil, leading Allah's people astray so that in the hereafter they may be used as fuel for the fire of hell.

2) Watheen's work is to influence people in such a way that his own actions lead him to calamities, thus, driving him away from the Lord.

3) Laqoos' task is to make the actions of fire-worshippers appear more decorative and to prevent them from discontinuing this form of worship, so that due to fire worshipping they themselves will become the prey of the fire of hell.

4) Ra'waan's victims are people who possess power and money. His aim is to induce them towards insolence and evil so that they make decisions without consulting Allah's guidance. Thus, in this way they themselves will fulfill Ra'awaan's needs and accomplish his tasks, whilst this cursed sits back calmly. This reality can be witnessed today in the world where decisions are made merely by strength and leadership.

5) Haffaaf has been allocated the job of creating mischief by tempting people towards the drinking of wine and spirits.

6) Murrah's responsibility is to attract people towards musical instruments due to which they will become negligent of their compulsions of life, and that no-one is saved from this wicked sin is his constant worry.

7)Al-Mussawit spread's false and dangerous rumours amongst people which creates arguments and evil.

8)Daasim enters homes especially when the head of the house enters without uttering salaam and remembering the Almighty. He causes conflict between man, his wife and the family. On occasions it leads to violence and divorce between a couple.

9)Walhaan's duty is to distract man when carrying out ablution and wavers his intent when performing salaah, consequently corrupting salaah.

Re: ghosts

The Holy Qur’aan reveals that Jinn are created from fire whereas the human beings are created from clay. Although they are invisible to human eyes, the jinn can see us. Like human beings they are also entrusted with responsibilities (careers, family life, etc.). They too will be rewarded for their righteousness and will receive punishment for their wickedness.

“I created jinn and mankind only that they may worship me.”

(Al Zariyat:56)

“And among us ( the Jinns ) there are the righteous folk and among us there are far from that; we are sects having different rules.”

(Jinn:11)

Re: ghosts

Good article about jinns.

Re: ghosts

thank you ... did not know all that in details before ...

Re: ghosts

Very simple question for u.If all bad thing which human do is due to shaitan. Why in islam there is concept of accountibility?

Re: ghosts

because these shaitan do not have power over us to make things happen. only thing is that they "suggest" .. they say something in the ear... it's humans who decide whether to follow it or not...

simple... laikin abhi aap aa jaayeN geY urdu kaa lecture laY kar koi

Re: ghosts

I had not realized that shaitaan has so many kids. Interesting.

Re: ghosts

:)now u know tht shaitaa hve so many kids?
how will u realize tht ?becausewe cant see shaitan and jinns?

Re: ghosts

 you guys i appreciate your knowledge

i know about the jinn, and jaadu, etc

what i’m talking about is like

for example, there was a boy who played basketball and died in our high school gym years ago…all different people from different generations etc will swear up and down that you can hear basketballs when nobody is in the gym…and if you walk in there is no one just a basketball rolling around

there are several legends of women who’ve lost their children in car accidents, etc and people say you can see the spirits of these women crying and screaming and looking for their lost children

and other stuff like this:

i know this sounds absolutely ludacris, but there are common occurences and thigns like this that terrify people…

if it is jinns and not overactive imaginations, what could be a possible gain to it?

i don’t believe in ghosts b/c as far as i know the concept of dead people haunting is not islam

but i know that this is something that many, many people believe in and believe they’ve experienced

i’m a scaredy-cat  i slept with a nightlight pretty much into highschool, i never watch scary movies, halloween scared the crap out of me when i was really little, and even now i can get creeped out by the dark…nothing helps like reciting Ayat-ul-Kursi, let me tell you

alhumdulillah, i don’t think i’ve ever encountered anything like this and in my logical mind, i’ve never believed in ghosts and yet i still avoid all these things like ghost stories and movies bc they quite frankly scare the crap out of me

i know this is a wierd topic, i think i’m more just thinking outloud…im just curious

Re: ghosts

AQ bhai do you have any links for the above? I want to read in detail about two things. 1. How black magaic came from the jinns under prophet Sulyeman :as: and 2. Haaroot and Maaroot.

Thanks.
