These are all old arguments: Who did the Army turn to after losinghalf the country..a civilian.. who did they turn to when they needed the pressler sanctions eased..the civilians...who gave pakistan its nuclear and missle programmes.. civilians. Who gave Pakistan its only unanimous constitution..civilians. Who won the cricket world cup..a civilian, who is Pakistans only nobel prize winner..a civilian. The list goes on..what are/were pakistans most successfully run state owned enterprises ..civilian led ones.
In the end the Army has shown again and again it cannot root out corruption or solve Pakistans complex ethnic and sectarian problems. More importantly Pakistans history has shown again and again stealing money damages Pakistan but the corruption of power has almost destroyed it..
