And round about them will (serve) boys of everlasting youth. If you see them, you would think them scattered pearls. (Koran 76:19)
Are these guys going to serve the same purpose as Nymphs (Hoor) or are they simply servants?
I eagerly asked that question to my Imam and the poor guy almost had an heart attack, he says “no no akhiy (brother), they are simply servants/cup-bearers to serve non-intoxicant wine to the Believers in Paradise, their relationship with their masters will be purely platonic, they will be like their sons…”
IMO
first off. the presence of the "aan" in the end indicates a pair (boys and girls)
secondly... note this verse:
يَزَكَرِيَّا إِنَّا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلَمٍ اسْمُهُ يَحْيَى لَمْ نَجْعَلْ لَهُ مِنْ قَبْلُ سَمِيًّا
O Zachariah! Lo! We bring thee tidings of a son whose name is John; we have given the same name to none before (him).
Son has been referred to as ghulaam... secondly, ghilamah is the female form, and ghilmaan is the pair form.
It is hinting the presence of children. I see my son everyday and he is a joy to my eyes. Imagine that :)
O' hypnotix, could you post the ayat in a more legible form? It's hard for me to read. Also, it will be helpful if you could post the sura and verse number as well.
The idea of kids being servants and referred to as having everlasting youth sounds pedophilic.
Only to those who think Jannah is a place for sexual intercourse, Jesus(AS) said in bible "none will enter Paradise but as a child"(child is used as a metaphor for child-like or innocent) and we all know that children don't fancy sex, they find it disgusting.
I doubt its that. Probably a male version of hoors.
We women are getting some too, you know.
Inshallah.
Women will get hoors too.......these Ghilman will serve the dwellers(men and women) of Jannah.

I dont know if PyariC is joking or not but she is right. This is the case, although it's not been publicize too much as it sound odd when you say that a women would have 70 men in her disposal
You are asking the wrong person. I don't think the afterlife will be a wonderland of carnal pleasures. I believe heaven to be a spiritual reward.
Spritiual reward?? As in somekind of metaphor. Yaar Semi, then what is the use of all this exercise which we are suppose to go through (as a true muslim).
It's not a metaphor. It is everything we should be striving to be because it is right. Because it is how God wants us to be. To become a better person and closer to God. The ultimate reward isn't wine, pork, silk and sex. It's to develop ourselves into beings worthy of being in God's kingdom. And no, not to pig out, get drunk and have sex in His kingdom. That's a frat party, not heaven.
If we think we are to refrain from all the earthly pleasures only so we can enjoy them for eternity, it is not a spiritual life we are leading or striving for. It would be fake. Bribery. Selfishness.

If God never wanted us to Pig out, get drunk and have sex, it would be easier for him not to create those pleasures. If alchohal was allowed in Islam, then drinking alchohal would be criteria of being worthy of God's Kingdom.
Its not about being worthy, its about obedience, and the obedience will be rewarded by giving one, the permission to have all the pleasures, one avoided in this world.
On the contrary, if these things are to be avoided, then why would they be available in abundance in God's kingdom? Surely doing these things in front of God is not the highest level we can reach. We are supposed to be disgusted by these things, not have in the back of our minds that they are the ultimate reward. If moral, spirtual, pure, godly and chaste are the attributes that God desires of us while here and that get us to heaven, how could the opposite be our rewards? That would go against everything He taught us.
To say we are to avoid carnal pleasures soley for a test is to demean our spiritual capacity and purpose on earth. It cheapens it. It's akin to dogs getting rewarded when obeying commands. Surely our calling is above that of a dog looking for a bone. That can't be the purpose of God's test. The test is to make us better human beings for the sake of the love of God, not for the lure of skinny dipping in pools of river and honey. If we love God and He deserves all the Glory, why do we need selfish, temporal desires fuilfilled to do what He asks of us? That's not love or respect, that's greed.
The best pleasures we could possibly receive would to be closer to God - a spiritual being that doesn't need carnal pleasures to reach self actualization. One that feels that ultimate reward is to be in God's presence.
Muslims believe that the greatest reward in Paradise is the Deedaar or Darshan of Allaah, being in His presence.
We will have new bodies in Paradise so other pleasures which also exist here are also mentioned/described but we can't truly comprehend them, they'll be different from on earth, the Prophet Muhammed PBUH said that "God, the Exalted, has said: 'I have prepared for my righteous slaves what no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and the mind of no man has conceived.'"
Christianity might see sex as ungodly/dirty/carnal/lowly but in Islam it's almost a form of worship if it's with ones spouse.
The Imam I spoke to said nothing that is forbidden in this world will be allowed over there such as gay-sex or pork. Sex with ones wife is allowed here and it will be a blessing there, Intoxicants are forbidden here so they wont exist there either, only non-intoxicating wine, what is forbidden in the Koran is Khamr (Intoxicant).
A bit silly of me to hope for "give us this day our daily twink...".
