No seriously, I put in that extra strong heavy duty elastic and tightened it soo much but the gharara is just so heavy nothing keeps it up! And it’s not even all of it, the sides of it are held up literally by the grooves in my hip bones but the middle bit beneath my navel just sinks down so the gote ends up looking V shaped :S I’m not worried about it falling down completely - my hips will see to that - its just the middle part I’m worried about, it ruins the shape of the outfit. Any ways of fixing this?

Would it be odd to use some kind of suspender kind of contraption for that (that can be worn from inside the top)?

use a drawstring/naara for a gharara. elastic will definitely not hold it up since its probably got a lot of kaam on it.

As TLK suggested; braces/suspenders are quite commonly used for very heavy bridal lehngas and ghararas

I know a girl who used suspenders under her kameez to hold up her lengha because it was very heavy. Just try that.

Problem with drawstring is when you tie it tight (as you will need to to hold it up) it cuts through your skin due to the sheer weight of the lehnga/gharara - trust me i had a sore waist and marks for a fews days!

If the drawstring is not too thin then it should be fine, I agree elastic is a big no no for heavy kaam lehngas , ghararas etc

See the problem with drawstring that if its too tight, it cuts into the skin. If its not tight then it slips. I can only imagine how heavy a gharara could be and especially for skiny girls (with not much of belly fat) it would be hard to hold it using draw string.

i can see the suspenders being uncomfortable too. i mean, wouldn't they show through the shirt if it was a fitted one?
