Re: Ghajini
This movie had been pinned against Rab Ne Banadi Jodi because both came out around the same time and both are competition to each other. People said to me that Ghajini will be better etc but i always sticked with my RNBJ. Acha howa! I did not like ghajini at all. Not even the songs! Only guzarish is nice! Rab ne banadi jodi in contrast is such a lighthearted sweet and nice romantic movie with some storyline. I did not like the macho look of amir khan at all. I liked him more in tare zameen par as a nice sweet kind teacher/professor.
Re: Ghajini
Watched Ghajini last night in cinema...wow what a movie! I'd say RNBDJ is the kind of mopvie u can watch again but ghajini is one off.
Watch both movies, you won't be disappointed!
Havenot watched it yet.
amir was very excited about this movie..
I really like him as an actor.Well amir has undergone a sea-change.I agree with aisha, that he looked more cute in taree zameen par,but these actors have to stay in sync with current trend in bollywood, like after SRK ,amir agained that husky look...
i didn't see this film yet just the promos. amir definitelt looks above average especially for his age. and way better than he did a couple of years back when he was sporting his mangal pandey look and he looked 100 times better than he di in fannah(almost like a transformation).
To be fair to my earlier comments, I zipped through the film in 1.5 hours on an awful print. The basics from memento -- revenge, rage, killed girlfriend, the mental disorder -- everything remains. To dumb it down, they've removed the nonlinear format of the original. And yeah, its beefed up with some wannabe-macabre action sequences lifted from Danny the Dog.
And they've inserted an endless flashback about the guy's cringe-inducing, ultra corny "love istory" and a very idiotic subplot about why the guy killed the girlfriend. And loads of songs and dances.
See a med student do an "item number" -- a first for world cinema!
Shabaash!!
i've officially become ur fan!!!
Re: Ghajini
Anyone who thinks Ghajini is copied from Memento, must check their resources first. These are two different movies and both are equally nice. D**n why do you guys have to be so biased about bollywood movies.
i've officially become ur fan!!!
Thanks, monster darlin' hehe
This film is just so full of itself, I really felt like kicking that bollywood actor in the rear for imitating Guy Pierce and being so totally into it....says a lot about the state of an industry where EVERY film is either a total rip off or a partial one lol!
Re: Ghajini
it was not as bad as I thought it would be. I just had a really hard time swallowing Aamir as a killing machine. It just looked really funny to me :D don't know why. Maybe because I'm so used to seeing him doing quality work before. I guess he wanted to go the Akshay Kumar route and beat up some baddies with one hand. Looks like he probably had fun doing it. It is okay to watch one time but there is not much thought put into the movie. Just another typical love story/revenge drama.
Re: Ghajini
Watched it a few dayz ago.. Yeah typical love/revenge story.. But yet.. Loved it.. Aamir looks so gud..!
Re: Ghajini
i watched it in cinema yesterday (sadly)...i didnot like it...it was okiesh but not a cinema movie...i want my money back....
i didnot find the story something xtraordinary or new...seen this b4 in other bolly movies...like awaarapan aur bichoo....15min stml wali cheez daal ke thodi different ker di thi (dat was gud)....story us pe bhi kirni achi ban sakti thi woh jo mqasoom ladkiyon ko becha ja raha hota hai.....amir ne apni grooming pe itni tawaju di per dono ladkiyon pe koi itni khaas nahi di
i love ar rehman but for this film i am disappointed ...none of teh songs were appealing (guzarish was better out of all)...us behka behka song ka middle part singer ne kis tarah gaya tha...that dhal dhak dil dil...sunte hi meri hansi choot gayi thi.....
both gilrs are not pretty...they were ok...i like jiah khan (specially after watching her in nishabd) but in this film she looked damn ugly...she looked like a chupkali..uski gardan pe itni kali kali lines thi....asin wasnot great at all but was looking better than jiah...acting bhi theek thi dono ki....at points asin thoda overacting ker rahi thi but gave some good shots too like when she gets to know that ghajini's men are in her house (xpression of dar on her face were good)......
they showed amir as 31yrd old i must say that he looked pretty young n stylish (not his fan but he luked nice)....as for his body...he needs a bra....when he took off his shirt for the very first time, his body looked pretty computerised or someone else's body..well not really bothered about his body...amir ki acting bhi koi itni khaas nahi thi...aisa role koi aur actor bhi ker saka tha...i think sallu bhi ker sakta tha aur use yeh look bhi suit kerti coz usne aisai similiar ganji look tere naam mein show ki thi.....fighting scenes kafi computerised they...pehli daffa kisi film ka naam kisi villian ke naam pe rakha hai
some scenes were funny like when amir comes to the party n kisses asin...
when asin says to herself kis pooch ke yeh itni mehgi gari mein aya hai amin iska bhaara bharne wali nahi...n then that waitor goes to asin mam yeh (amir) itni overacting ker raha hai kaho tou main ajaon
for me its not the type of movie that i will watch in cinema....1/2 out of 10 from me....the next two flicks i wanna watch in cinema are billu barber n luck by chance....
Re: Ghajini
I like Hindi movies. I thought this movie was exceptional, very emotional. Aamir's acting was amazing. I didn't expect to like it this much. I would not watch it again though, too sad.
Re: Ghajini
hmmm the film crossed one billion rupee mark in few weeks!
I am no fan of Indian movies, but now I am tempted to go and spend 3 hrs in cinema… :hmmm:
Re: Ghajini
not too bad
Re: Ghajini
looser movie.
Started with such a damaka but even tuss..
Re: Ghajini
i watched it on youtube and apparently i love it. cinematography was awesome even though it was exaggerated (same action sequences as we see in matrix) n salman khan was much better silent actor in tere naam then amir khan....also also it is believed that its a copy of a tamil movie.
but the thing i like about the movie is "flâneur " aspect of it. and i heart the trick of heroine that how she helped the handicapped gals in getting into the museum.
i also like and dislike one aspect at the same time...n that is honest people do stand against the evil forces but why they underestimate the evilness of the evils?
i mean if the heroine found out about the smuggling girls then she should have avoided that news interviews....besides why news reporters are sooooo naive n instead of protecting and help the helpers they make their lives more miserable...aisay ghunday budmash chortay thori hain?
I liked it!
The movie does have some major flaws. For example, the first half an hour or so of the movie is a total waste. The fight scenes are over done. Aamir Khan looks more crazy than confused and hurt. The fight scenes would've been good if it wasnt for the godawful score. It was probably the worst score for an action movie. Instead of adding something to the fight scenes, it was just a total distraction, I had to cover my ears at one point.
I think the movie gets much much better when the flashback begins. I know some here think that it was a corny lovestory but I think it was done really well. Obviously, the first dance number was totally unnecessary and didnt do anything for the storyline. But as soon as the lead girl (Jia khan?) opened her mouth, I loved the film. I thought she did a wonderful job and had great chem with Aamir. I think the story was great in portraying why sanjay would be so heartbroken over losing someone as pure hearted as her.
I give it 8/10. It was lacking in a lot but made up with a lot of the lovestory. I think if they had made a bit more effort to crete some sympathy for Sanjay's new life it would've been much better. Like, I think when they showed him waking up not remembering anything and then discovering everything as if for the first time, they coud've made it more heartbreaking than crazy hulk!
Re: Ghajini
^ lead girl was asin (the one who dies)
jiah khan was that medical student!!!!!
^ really? lol! Oh I HATED the medical student!! first she was ugly and too stupd to b a med student! I wanted sanjay to kill her!
Loved Asin!
Re: Ghajini
^ o man i love asin's acting...in fact she is an amazing actor...in fact amir khan bhi us k samnay kuch nahi tha.
n i hated that medical student...she was soo much annoying.
