You can be an agitator once, and you can be an agitator twice, but if you are consistently working the national crowd for two decades then you are definitely more than an agitator - you are a leader. And of course one man’s leader is other person’s parade pisser, and even I’d agree with you that no one knows how to piss on people’s parade better than Imran.
You can sit here and wish as a self soothing exercise that Imran is nothing less than a circus clown who’s getting bit of attention here and there and everyone’s just having a good laugh, while it is translucently visible likes of you are actually deeply hurt and frightened of his new found role as a Kingmaker. 
Yes, that’s right. He’s a Kingmaker whose every word dominates Pakistan’s politics for days and days and many days like no one’s business. People who vehemently malign him are the ones majorly contribute towards his popularity. They are the ones who make sure Imran’s receives absolutely maximum publicity. It’s common sense, if you going to talk about him for days and days and talk about nothing but him, chances are his views will leave a deep impression on people’s psyche. They’ll get institutionalised. His ideas will become the only way.
I mean you should know better, people like you have done this to his peace talks doctrine. Likes of you obsessively discussed it too the teeth, hoping that it’ll become unpopular, people will forget about his ideas despite the irony that his statements infinitely dominating the press and all types of media. But look what happened - his idea became the ultimate policy of the same people who initially ridiculed and rejected him . You know why, because people spent far more time opposing Imran than promoting the alternatives! At the end of the day, there was no alternative but Imran’s objectives.
His ability to capture people’s imagination (haters or supporters), seize the crowd on every juncture and direct people’s energies, define their collective focus - something you strangely find very embarrassing - are the traits history will remember as his most shining qualities. We all know that very well that history tends to be very kind to leaders who are people’s personalities. Winston Churchill instantly comes to mind.

The man who was a viciously portrayed as Taliban Khan by his haters as a bait for army to only to have them feel offended but to ultimately have them wipe his name off from the political scene as punishment. But one thing is positively clear, this whole episode has effectively exposed fairweather military supporters who not so long ago were the most vociferous army/ISI cheerleaders. The same army and ISI that’s expected to defeat Taliban are now considered filthy bunch of uniformed mafia, treacherous villains and public number in the eyes of NRPs.
I had said it long time ago in this same forum, that Pakistan military would never commit to costly within border full blown out insurgency because they know the very warmongers who are pushing for a bloody war will leave no opportunity to turn the public tide against the military. You simply don’t commit to civil wars when you have no genuine support amongst the public.
