He seems to be a pretty confident, intelligent and promising captain (as far as the talks are concerned)

Only one thing scares me of Malik. But I can't say it as it would be a direct attack on his personality.

On the side,

Malik wants to keep up the tradition of Pakistani captains speaking pathetic English but he's atleast trying. He told Nadia on her show that he's taking spoken English lessons and thank god for that.

Nadia told him frankly and quite rightly so, "Aap logon kee kya sahi tarah grooming nahin hoti jaise Imran Khan (you had guys like Mohsin Khan, Majid Khan, Wasim Raja, Wasim Akram and Rameez Raja who were all very presentable) kay zamaane mein hoti thee, Please please khuda keh waaste post match interviews par bhi concentrate karen kyon keh poori duniya aap koh uss waqt dekh rahi hoti hai and the last three years esp. have been very disappointing to say the least, try and say something new, something intelligent and don't put everything down to fate or Allah, keh jee Allah kee marzi thee"

I have no inferiority complex but, yah to aap urdu mein bolein lekin jab English mein baat karen toh atleast sahi bolein.
People like Wasim Akram and Jahangir Khan spoke very little English when they first started their careers but they improved with time. On the other hand guys like Miandad and Inzi just never tried to learn or improve themselves and (in Moin Akhtar's words)* hum jidhar say chaley thay wahaan say saare teen (3.5) saal aur peeche chale gaye hain!*

For the record:

Miandad is the youngest-ever captain in Pakistan’s history. He was only 22 when he was first appointed as captain for the home series against Australia (which Pakistan won 1-0) in February 1980. Malik is 26.
