Sr. if you agree with haseeb then all the director from the golden era of ptv kill them selves for doing totally opposite in their dramas, and people who loved these drama should also go see a doctor for being attracted toward the great story and originality rather than the bling bling ---lavishness--whatever of the actors.
toni rasheed was doing a segment in nadia khan's show malaee mar kay, and he went to watch a pakistani movie which called madam X, it was a horrible movie because of the kind clothing and culture they tried to show there, when toni came out of the cinema he started complaining that do we really have to show all that blah blah blah while he was saying this, the movie's producer came and toni asked these questions to him, and that guy answered him pretty much the same answer Mr. haseeb gave you. so i am wondering if our dramas are going to also end up where our movies has gone....because it seems like everyong is using the same logic and formula. attract people by showing shiny things.
In europe here we are lagging behind, but the whole thing going on with Rubab really upsets me and I really really feel sorry for her. Especially when she is suffering after the abortion, I felt very upset.
Whereas Majhaz Siddiqui is concerned, I would love to see him pay for his deeds.
Apart from this it is good to see they are making such dramas, such things need to be discussed, as they are part of reality.
DRAMA ....D.R.A.M.A hota hai....aap uss mein absolute haqeeqat ya reality close to the truths of real life being depicted or DRAMATIZED...kabhi bhi nahin dhaal sakte. There has to be COLOR even in the most destitute situations being portrayed. Yaqeen karen...agarr hum Tooba, Aisha, Tehreem aur Saadiya ko mamooli kapraay pehenwatay...tou ghalib'unn... audience ya viewers itnay attract nahin hotay....aur shayad ye serial bh. Its SURREALISM what we normally adopt when such situations are shown"

Yikes!! I don't know if the directors think this is what the viewers want in Pakistan OR if the viewers really want this in Pakistan. I guess a poll can be done to find the answer.

yaar director khud apna paisa bananay kay liyeh drama ko itna glamorized kar daitay hain, phir sara ilzaam viewers pay laga daitay hain.
i can not find a single person with a right state of mind who would watch such an intense and serious drama and demand glamor with it. those directors producers always try to portray the viewers as some brainless dummies so they can just blame us.

^^ you and I might think so but it will be interesting to see what the audience in Pakistan thinks who enjoy StarPlus soaps and also don't raise issues with something like a Dil Diya Dahleez showing a woman in jail for 20+ years having perfect makeup and manicured nails. That "soap serial" was a huge hit. I personally thought it was pure torture. HA!
It would be interesting to see a tv channel or newspaper in Pak do a poll on this. I know wishful thinking of mine ;-)

^ you are right, but i DO NOT know a single person, or i have never read a single complain from a viewer who is mad at the director or producer for *NOT showing enough makeup in the drama. but there are sooooooooooooooooo much complain about showing unnecessary, or too much makeup/glamor in the drama.
I think their clothes are fine for the most part from what I've seen so far...far better than what other dramas have these days.
Although I agree with the jewelry and makeup part, gosh, the girls are caked up with it!
They should've used some of the money they spent on the makeup on a good graphic designer. That picture that comes, during breaktime, with the name of the drama along with cut outs of the artists with a blue background is horrible! Yet, they talk about glamor.
Yes, lets have a poll on the clothes and see the viewers take on it...and then we can better see if indeed the makers are right or not. Moderator, poll please.

...yaar waisay a woman who isn't aware about what tehreem's zuberi's character went through is just plain stupid. and if a person is really all that stupid then no matter how much any drama try to "aware" her she isn't going to get it.
another thing i didn't understand is why tehreem's death didn't "aware" her own sisters, because from the promos i can tell that "sahab" is going to get married to "mijaz siddiqui" (she pretty much had the same affair with mijaz as her own sister) then tuba will get in to all sorts of trouble from modelling and javaid shaikh. tou khud us ghar ki baqi larkyon ko awareness nahi aai, tou viewers ko kiya samjha rahay hain yeh loog?

I believe nadia khan's statement was based on this being a very 'hush hush' / 'taboo' topic that is being openly portrayed in the drama. there are naive girls out there who predators go after.
