Time magazine publish it’s list of more powerful men alive, and they put General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani ahead of President Barack Hussain Obama in influence & leadership.
Did you even read it properly? *Time magazine just listed 100 of the top most influential people. They didn't give any order of preferences, just listed them arbitrarily by who selected/wrote about them, not to mention that it is extremely silly to assume Kiyani is more 'influential' than the AMERICAN PRESIDENT Barack Obama! *
Re: General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani is more powerful then President Obama - Time Magazin
lol i know if a rat that is more powerful than the Lion
thats what i have to reply to General Kiyani vs Obama
Obama is certainly the president of the Most Powerful nation , Kiyani is a military army general from a developing country....no comparision of the two!
Since the intelligence levels are at rock bottom on PA, here is the complete list. Notice the bullets on the left, they do not mean Hilary Clinton is more powerful (as the thread started put it), than Barack Obama.

errr..... dude this is also said by Aaj kamran khan k sath too, .. and secondly it's in the order. Go to time.com and check their video section on why they choose the Kiyani as the most influential person even ahead of Obama..
Re: General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani on Time Magazine Top 100 list
so my mention of the mustafa kamaal FP ranking (which just like this thread was misinterpreted or faked), but the reference to Imran Khan in the 2nd post is left. Ravage, whats up? If Mustafa Kamal's fake ranking has nothing to do with the topic, Imran Khan has nothing to do with either, and post #2 needs to go too.
Re: General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani on Time Magazine Top 100 list
you as a former moderator know that we discourage the dumping of news articles verbatim, and encourage people to offer some point of view for debate. What that point of view and what the debate topic is is upto the thread starter.
he started a discussion talking about Kiani being ahead of Obama, and subsequently asked why isnt Imran Khan listed? You feel that is irrelevant? Point that out to him, and win the debate.
Re: General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani on Time Magazine Top 100 list
In that case, I will broaden (literally) the discussion by asking:
Why isnt Altaf Hussain's name listed in the top 100 influential leaders of the world?
p.s. that mention of imran khan was his 2nd post, he had already provided his views in the first one, though those views were totally wrong as time never ranked anyone.

Our friend Wine doesn't read very well....I remember a thread where i requested the mods not get hyperactive when somebody posts against MQM...and you know what wine understood and complained about?
The funny guy reported my post and said " Bitter is calling us Hypocrites ban him do this n that"
Re: General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani on Time Magazine Top 100 list
not too broad, otherwise it is better suited as a separate thread. however if you are making a point relevant to his i.e. Imran isnt in the list for the same reason Altaf (or any other pakistani politician) isnt, its relevant.
regarding the ps... since the posts are consecutive, i consider it as part of the debate-framing.
Re: General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani on Time Magazine Top 100 list
^ Firstly, Imran and his team got a heroes reception after the 87 semi. He is, and will probably remain Pakistan's most successful captain. Secondly, remember who brought you home the world cup the tournament after that? It was not Altaf Bhai, it was Imran Khan. And lastly, learn to live with the 87 pain (where we won ALL but one match), everyone got over it, especially considering we won the world cup after that under Imran.
Re: General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani on Time Magazine Top 100 list
Gen. Kiyani deserves the award because they know when its crunch time, it won't be politicians reloading the weapons, it'll be Armed forces up to task therefore it's only fair to award the COAS.
Not only that but COAS Kiyani has to be given credit for working effortlessly to cleanse the image of Armed Forces before the world which was tarnished due to previous dictator who treated Army as his personal force.
Re: General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani on Time Magazine Top 100 list
Indeed, the guy has done a wonderful job of depoliticizing the army, and restoring its lost prestige. The one thing people aren't happy about is how he is reported to be providing cover and an immunity to Musharraf as part of a deal in which he was involved.
Re: General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani on Time Magazine Top 100 list
I guess that’s a part of Army discipline, but you never know when the tide changes. The unexpected can become reality.
Who woulda thought Zardari would be President But he is…(unfortunately)
Overall Kiyani has done really well, and avoided coming to power when he could easily have done so (Blockade of Long March and peoples’ discontent with Govt.). So props to him for maintaining the discipline and keeps Armed Forces away from Politics, thus the recognition.
