Speaking from a religious perspective…this is incorrect. Men and women are not equal in Islam. If they are…I’d like to see a verse stating that explicitly.

““Their Lord, responded to them : I never fail to reward any worker among u for any work you do, BE YOU MALE OR FEMALE, YOU ARE EQUAL TO ONE ANOTHER””.
(AL-Quran 3:195) western people claim that ISLAM treats woman as second class citizen and muslims, living in west, have accepted thinking that, that is what ISLAM is advocating.
