**The 2015 has been an eventful year for Pakistan. From thankyouraheelsharif to gonawazgo – every slogan hogging the limelight had its interesting background.
**Arynews.tv conducted a ‘Person of the Year’ poll participated by thousands of our readers.
Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif came out on top in our user-based online poll, followed by PTI chief Imran Khan on second, while the MQM supremo Altaf Hussain clinched the third spot in most number of votes.
Nobel prize winner Malala Yousafzai got the least number of votes (1.2%), taking her to the bottom of the list at 10th position.
Here is the breakdown of votes (percentage wise) illustrated below.

The voting took place on ARY’s website, and you know what, Pakistan goes a lot beyond Karachi (where Pak Army hating is so prevalent), otherwise Pak Fauj does enjoy support and goodwill amongts Pakistanis.
Gen Raheel turned out to be an excellent wartime general, and his leadership in regards to winning an otherwise a lost war deserve every bit of credit, and this coming from a PTI supporter who thought operation will turn into a Syria like civil war. Well done and good luck to the General for sake of Pakistan

Though my comment was more on the humor/sarcasm side, I do agree that Raheel Sharif has earned praises for his work on terrorism/extremism/political-ghunda-gardi front and I give him credit for that. But rest of the stats do not really represent anything, NS below Altaf Hussain? IK at 29% and NS at well below 10%? Younis Khan above other politicians? Ayyan Ali above Bilawal? The stats are REALLY skewed and screwed, not implying that someone twisted the numbers but I do not believe these numbers to be truly representative of ground perception.

PS Are the votes from Karachi since Younis and even altaf Hussain managed to make it? I guess that disproves the whole Karachi = hate army. There is more hatred for army in interior aindh, balochistan and probably KP (displaced refugees).

When an army officer beats brother and sister or just kill a line man for doing his duty, every one including shahid masood and Dr Danish's tongue goes numb
When a politician or civilians makes a business empire, getd thrashed left right and center
Army runs, housing societies , hospitals, schools, malls, construct roads, logistics, run industries, have hyper-markets..then it is their right...to do so on our tax money

this also shows that inspite of PPP's cries of establishment creating hurdles for them, they did not take sides in the polls. PPP should also realize that their voter is shrinking in places other than Sindh, using the results of LB polls as barometer.
