He was asked a question about bombing pak to stone-age
PRESIDENT MUSHARRAF: I would like to – I am launching my book on the 25th, and I am honor-bound to Simon and Schuster not to comment on the book before that day. (Laughter.) PRESIDENT BUSH: In other words, buy the book, is what he’s saying. (Laughter.)
**At the end of press conf **
PRESIDENT BUSH: Buy the book. (Laughter.)
Every newscaster in US tv was making fun of him on all the tonight news shows.
Re: Gen Musharraf promoting his book in whitehouse
Musharraf was just trying to avoid the question and he was intelligent enough to divert the question to book, that is all and all dumb @$$ media is thinking that he was promoting the book, so be it. I bet there will be no detailed answer of particular question asked (American threat to Pakistan) by reporters in the book too.
Re: Gen Musharraf promoting his book in whitehouse
cant wait, i know mush will not waste opportunity to make an a** out of himself, although it will be interesting too, because john stewart is a very smart guy and worst critic of bush!!
Re: Gen Musharraf promoting his book in whitehouse
oh yeah, well if hes relying on a little book to make money, then I bet hes not a money laundering thief like your BB maasi and her crooked hubbie Zarda-Ari
Re: Gen Musharraf promoting his book in whitehouse
Which swiss bank account is this money in?
And that is why you wait to get out of office before writing your memoirs! Not only he is embarrising himself, but also his buddy Bush and most importantly Pakistan.
Whatever the strategy, and whether or not Armitage used those exact words with Gen Mehmood, Musharraf hasn’t said anything bizzarely untrue. I fail to understand why such a deal is being mad out of it. If anything he should be praised for his raw moral courage. Regardless of how ppl react now, everyone knows he’s gone down in history for slapping Bush and the US in a very smart manner. How many leaders, let’s talk globally cause I dont even want to think abt our past specimens, have been able to do such a thing and get away. And pls dont start with “Pakistan will pay for this”, nothing has happened and Bush didnt die or have a seizure because of this remark. Even he must know deep inside.
And besides, no other Pakistani leader in the past was as popular or as respected globally, and in the US. Deny it if you will, but analysts few years from now will confirm again.
Re: Gen Musharraf promoting his book in whitehouse
Musharraf is not greedy,he has’nt stolen a dime so far from anyone if people under his administration are involved in corruption then its not his fault,he did’nt vote for them the people did.And as for him making a bit of money out of his book,American policiticians are far more greedy,Do you know that Bill Clinton charges US$ 150 k dollars for a speech?.
And corruption in Pakistan eventhough high is much less than what it was under Sharif and Benazir, pakistan was ranked as the second most corrupt country in the world under Benazir.. right now its dropped down to 14 under Musharraf.
Re: Gen Musharraf promoting his book in whitehouse
That is so true. Musharraf is the talk of the town, and he is being feted by Democrats as well as Republicans, many of who are praising him and defending Pakistan. The President looks smart, relaxed and like a true world statesman.
Re: Gen Musharraf promoting his book in whitehouse
On 60 minutes He looked confused, cornered and apologetic. As for as his book is concerned, give the guy a break. At least he is not stealing from those poor people in Pakistan. He is in the limelight and will make few million dollars from that book more than any other political or non political figure from Pakistan has ever dreamnt of making through legal means.
