Re: Gaza Under attack
I appreciate IK writing letter to UN chief.
I cannot stress enough how much important it is for everyone of us to contact our local representive, whether a congressman, senator or whoever and ask them to do use their influence to stop this bloodshed.
Call them, email them or write a letter.
Dont think it doesnt matter. IT DOES. Argueing on GS may not help palestinians but your communication with authorities can.
Some of my folks here contacted the congressman rep and the response came defending israel and condemning hamas. but that's ok. Atleast they came to know what their voters want.

Facts All US Citizens Need to Know About Israel and Palestine Washington’s Blog
Things you don’t learn from mainstream media. People think Israel started this current invasion because Hamas kidnapped 3 teenagers and killed, how many times does it need to be refuted? But they love to blame Hamas.
Re: Gaza Under attack
Let me pass your proposal to Palestinians for a “possibility of peace”:
Walk in streets nude, you never know when Israel want to shove anything, they should not have a problem shoving
As soon as you see Israeli military/police in your neighborhood, simply come out of your homes, lay-down on street so they can pickup whoever they want.
Once you see Israeli military approaching your neighborhood, better to pack your stuff and empty your homes, you never know if this site has been selected for next settlement.
If you see any Palestinian carrying any arms, take that arm from him and kill him with same weapon, how dare he carry it?
Re: Gaza Under attack
Perhaps people can name at least one group from history that resisted a violent occupation and systemic ethnic cleansing with flowers and poetry?
Gaza strip is under a violent siege. It’s a large refugee camp where no normal life can exit. The population is traumatised and dehumanised beyond belief by a so called only liberal democracy in the Middle East protected by custodians of Human Rights. Israel is deliberately radicalising the Palestinians by using modern technically advance, lethal weapons designed to cause maximum death and destruction in conventional warfare yet foolishly expecting that Palestinian orphans with flattened homes won't feel any anger and hatred towards the occupiers whose every adult male is a trained soldier. What do you think Israeli teenagers and graduates are told when they undertake mandatory military service? Love thy neighbours?
Even if you take Hamas out, it is impossible to expect that some other group in a war torn refugee camp won't prop up and vow to fight for lost dignity and land. It is impossible to expect that human nature won’t make any attempt at exercising the desire for retaliation under such circumstance (and that is if you consider Palestinians human beings to being with) Moreover, the illegal, thoroughly inhuman and root cause of all troubles blockade is just another execution of Israel’s collective punishment which denies Gazans access to food, medicine, trade, water, electricity, education, leisure etc. Every other year Gaza's whatever remaining or newly infrastructure is flattened by missiles. Yet these are people who have no one, literally no one representing their case on international level. No one is fighting for their Human Rights. No super power has promised to bring peace, prosperity and democracy for them. Their neighbours have abandoned them, Western powers play the role of silent cheer leaders for Israel's crimes against humanity. But it is still the Palestinians who are on the wrong for taking the matters into their own hand?
Israel has repeatedly killed and attacked UN workers and buildings in Gaza. Forget about Muslim countries, imagine if China or Russian had done this? Why is Israel above and beyond every international law? US would've bombed and invaded any country who may have just done less than half of what Israel is done yet the nation that crippled Iran with all kinds of sanctions won't even politely ask Israel to back off and stop killing children and women.
If Hamas' charter is a root cause of all the troubles, then about constitution of Likud that doesn't even recognises a state of Palestine? Stop holding rallies calling 'death to Arabs'. Stop calling Palestinian children "snakes" and "animal"s, stop advocating rape of Palestinian women. Stop cheering the massacre of innocent Palestinian from hilltops. Stop depriving people of their basic human rights, stop attacking the disabled, injured, elderly and pregnant women and babies. Stop using bombs and jets to attack the densely populated refugee camps. Stop attacking schools, hospitals, UN charity buildings apartment blocks, mosques, and slums to punish the innocent people who have no international ally coming for it's aid, no air force, no navy, no heavy weapons, no artillery units, no intelligence units, no mechanized armor, no command in control, no army. No nothing. Yet this is called a war? No. This a genocide. A pogrom. It's a repeat of holocaust.
I challenge anyone to prove what is so fundamentally wrong with any of Hamas' 10 demands for ceasefire - according to International laws created by humanity and equality loving Western powers (so no 'this is a Mawzlum propaganda' rant ) - provided they are also promising to stop the rocket attacks once the blockade is lifted (funny you don't see Western media even faintly mentioning these demands). If Israel and its Western poodle friends are remotely serious about peace, they should pursue the negotiations for sake of humanity.

sure...go ahead and pass on these suggestions and let me know the response..
most likely they will tell you that from nov 2012 till june 2014 things were relatively peaceful until those 3 boys were murdered and both hamas and Zionists welcomed the opportunity to start the war
and everything that you mentioned above is actually happening to Palestinians when hamas fought not when hamas was sitting peacefully
anyway if that is how you want to debate....walk nude, shoving and what not, i dont think we can debate much. I get your point...appreciate it.
Re: Gaza Under attack
bottomline..these debates are useless because both camps are way too far and it is a classic chicken and egg problem
muslim camp: israel wants to destroy Palestinians and hamas or no hamas, it will continue its barbaric policies. there is nothing that can come good out of israel, so no point of trusting them and lets continue with hamas* (even though israel is the most thriving economy in the middle east and common sense suggests that normal israeli families would like to live peacefully).* Israel wants to build more settlements in gaza and just needs excuse to do that (even though isarel destroyed its jewish settlements in gaza in 2005 and moved out and also did not capture any portion in gaza in 2009 or 2012 wars and retrieved after ceasefire)
Israeli Camp: All palestinians are raised on a toxic premises of destroy israel, they have no hope in life and all of them are radicalized and want to kill us (even though same race of arab Palestinians are living peacefully in Israeli portion because they have a normal life to live)..*that hamas wants to destroy us and we cannot trust them no matter what, so we will continue gaza blockage in most barbaric way
*(even though hamas tried to participate in elections in 2006 and isreal and USA disowned those elections)
So chicken and egg drama and hence no hope ..both sides will continue with emotional rant and there will be no potential solution.
Re: Gaza Under attack
I don't get it, are they going to go through Eid like this?
Re: Gaza Under attack
So is this news that the 3 israeli teens were not taken by Hamas but by some stupid local group true?
:-/
Apparently some Israeli MP's are talking about this now? Is this true, or some media online making it up?
I mean if you're now admitting it wasn't Hamas, doesn't it make the whole war motion look staged?
Re: Gaza Under attack
The logic followed by groups like Hamas is that the 22 years of peaceful negotiation by the PLO since the Oslo Accords have failed to produce any tangible results other than Israel taking over more and more land in the West Bank for settlements.
By contrast, from their perspective, continued armed resistance and terrorism have led to mass prisoner releases and the Israeli withdrawal from Gaza.
By their logic, therefore, Israel only reacts to military pressure and will do nothing to improve the lot of the Palestinians during times of peace.
That's why they are refusing the accept a peace on a status quo basis, because they believe then all the deaths and struggle will have been for nothing - the situation will revert to Israel continuing to maintain a stranglehold on Gaza and the Palestinians.
Not to mention that even the left-wing Israeli press is noticing that Gazans and West Bankers increasingly blame Israel and not Hamas for the hundreds of deaths.
The conflict is increasing support for Hamas amongst the Palestinians- it is a political move to extend the war, it secures their power base in Gaza as well as boosting their West Bank presence, which will help them in the next Palestinian election.
The worst thing for peace in the Middle East was Yitzhak Rabin's assassination, because he was the only Israeli leader willing to make 100% concessions for a lasting, just peace.
The second worst thing was Ariel Sharon's stroke and coma, because though the man had been a butcher he was the last Israeli leaders to have the balls to eventually stand up to the Settler lobby and remove settlers to try and make conditions for peace.
They can keep throwing rockets, but at some point the rockets will run out. They aren't armed otherwise really to fight a formal army.

I keep telling everyone the 3 teenager case was just a cover, besides from what I read the so-called local group is touted to have kidnapped/killed the Israelis (which is still under question) because few days before that Israeli army picked up Palestinian kids and they never returned.
Re: Gaza Under attack
If any one speaks out about this they're being labelled as anti Semite. I simply "like" 'ed a few pics on Facebook and I guess it showed on my newsfeed and I have old colleagues who are posting on Facebook that their friends are posting anti Semite posts and to please delete themselves from their profiles. Some of these folks are prolly talking to me since I'm the only Muslim person that keeps in touch with them.
Very sad. It could cost me career options I guess but I don't care. I feel for people like that cyclist. Out mouths are taped shut.

It was the police chief leading the investigation who announced that the kidnappers had no ties to any militant organizations.
Why are you surprised that Israel would look for false grounds on which to start a conflict with the Palestinians? They have never been interested in creating a lasting peace since first Yitzhak Rabin was killed, and later (possibly) Ariel Sharon turned into a vegetable at the time his actions suggested a change of heart about making peace.

Welcome to the pressure that Israel's supporters use to muffle criticism. The way around this is to only "like" and post articles / posting by Jewish writers and openly-declared Israel supporters who are critical of what Israel is doing.
Re: Gaza Under attack
PCG..there are no news here. From day 1 it was pretty much established that those who kidnapped 3 israeli boys and murdered them were some Palestinian militants…may be an outgrown faction of hamas but hamas as an organization did not kidnap those 3 israeli boys.
It was not hamas main leadership who ordered to kidnap those boys. Khaled mashel for instance did not order to kindnap those israeli kids and then kill them.
Aljazeera mentioned this many times and every major news channel said the same thing. Even American commentators said from beginning that hamas has not shown to be directly responsible for these murders.
and Shame on Israeli zionits for starting the operation without showing patience because zionits just need an excuse and we know that. Zionist israeli regime blamed for hamas because it suited them so that could start brabaric action
But what could have hamas done better to potentially avoid this bloodshed or at least try? now lets get to that part. Completely understood that every society has rogue elements but what hamas did wsas to ue this opportunity to fan the flames and used this opportunity to escalate the tension.
Hamas congratulated those who murdered these 3 boys..did not denounce murderers at all, did not announce that those militants will be captured and put to justice….instead these cartoons (see below) were published on facebook where those 3 isralei boys were compared to rats.
Hamas clealry wanted to use this incidence to scale the tension because violence suits them. Hamas was getting weaker and weaker in last 18 months because of peaceful situation in gaza. Hamas has no peaceful political agenda. Now they are back in game, they have enough dead bodies and blood to proliferate their agenda.
**Ince again, Shame on Israeli zionits for starting a barbaic operation without showing patience because zionits just need an excuse, **That is what I am saying throughout…and I urge to keep an objective mindset. criticize Zionists but also criticize hamas if you want some solution. Speak full truth and see the full picture. Dont fall for right wing emotional muslim rant coz it will not get is anywhere. Poor Palestinians will keep on dying.

Re: Gaza Under attack
So 1000+ Gazans are massacred (with thousands injured and disabled for life) and more than half of Gaza's infrastructure once again flattened because someone from Hamas posted an offensive picture on bloody FB? Wonderful reasoning indeed. Not to mention a Palestinian boy was burned alive and hundred arrested as a result of the killing of three Israeli boys.
Shame on UN for allowing Israel to violate every single international law and still not uttering a word to condemn it's thoroughly illegal and absolutely barbaric collective punishment and war crimes.
Re: Gaza Under attack
This is for all those right wing nutters who spare no opportunity to discourage and dispirit those who still have the concious and moral spine to condemn Israel.

Re: Gaza Under attack
I have maintained that one of main reasons Israel-palestain issue has no hope is because both parties and their supporters are victim of their own emotional perceptions and are not willing to have any objective viewpoint. Go to any Israeli forum and or any muslim forum, rant after rant rant.
For example in context of this particular fight for last 4 weeks, both parties will completely deny to accept that:
Isareli Zionist Govt:
1) knew fully well that the boys were dead shortly after they disappeared, but did not disclose it for days to emotionalize the situation and then used it as a launching pad to attack gaza
2) knew well from its sources that hamas leadership did not order murdering these 3 israeli boys yet Neetan blamed Hamas publicly in its tweets from day 1
3) used disproportionate amount of force to kill hundreds of innocent Palestinians and tried to defend it shamelessly
Hamas:
1)While Israeli govt at-least publicly apologized for the killing of Palestinian boy and announced investigation (may be fake apology but at least it was offered), Hamas refused to denounce murder of those 3 boys.
Hamas head Khaled Mashaal told al-Jazeera TV when asked about murder of those 3 boys “we support every resistance attack against the Israeli occupation, which has to pay for its tyranny”. Another Hamas leader said “well, it would be a logical and natural reaction to the violations of occupation forces.”
2)refused to locate those groups who killed those 3 boys and bring them to justice which escalated the tension.
3) Hamas without having any strong position refused to accept few ceasefires proposed by Egypt and thus contributed along with zionits killings of more innocent Palestinians
So obviously both zionist regime and hamas have an agenda which do not suite innocent Palestinians and Israeli public but no one wants to talk about it objectively. they just want their side of story to be heard and insist that is the true one.
