Gender is a sociological construct and biology doesn't conform to it. Nor does it conform to monotheistic values. Every year, thousands of infants all over the globe underdo gender-corrective surgeries.
We muslims need to develop a more sympathetic approach towards homosexuality -- "it's forbidden in Islam but Allah is the ultimate judge". Jewish Orthodoxy has developed a "response" and it's very symapthetic and accepting of homosexuality. Muslims ought to do the same.

Humans are funky. We have spite. We can, in fact, restrain our biological impulses for non-biological (and often social) reasons. Why, just this morning I wanted to strangle a buddy of mine. Wonder why that didn't happen...

there is a reason that those infants undergo corrective surgery.
i) due to mistakes during circumcision (for example, a drunk rabbi), a boy's wee wee is cut off. there was sucha case, and the parent's decided to turn him into a girl, but as he grew up, he was not comfortable with his female identity. once he realized the truth, he got surgery done and lived a life as a man
ii) their genitalia are not clear...ie whether the child is boy or girl. in that case, in many cases, the DNA is checked to determine the gender. when the true, genetic identity is determined, the genitalia is tweaked.
surgery is not recommended anymore. it is true that is much more easier to label a child with a gender when he or she is born, but once a child grows up, there are emotional issues that arise. therefore, it is suggested that the child should be aware of the issue and once he grows up, he should decide which side of the spectrum he wants to take.
there is a specific, genetic gender that is given to each and every child at the moment of birth. due to circumstances that Allah chooses, the thing that really matters to our society, genitalia, can go awry. your view point of gender is just one of the view points in psychology about gender. biology is not a separate issue when it comes to a child. it is part of the equation. to separate is impossible. all the enlightened, modern psychologists now know there is not such thing as a nature-nurture debate.

There is no need to call any body names, understand this...If Quran condemns it, it is wrong. it is the same reason you dont drink or eat pork so get off your high "moral" horses and accept the fact that it is a behavior that is forbidden by Islam. There is no need to "develop" sympathy for someone who willingly and defiantly defies Quran.

Glad to see all your responses, just one thing some people are saying gays cannot be Muslim.
A gay Muslim is just as Muslim as an adulterer/fornicator Muslim, murderer Muslim, gambler Muslim, theif Muslim, drinker Muslim, druggy Muslim, haraam (non-dhabiha) eating Muslim, beardless Muslim, Hijabless Muslim etc.
They are Faasiq (major sinners) but we can only declare them Murtad (apostate) and Kaafir (disbeliever) if they say what they are doing (homosexual sex) is Halaal (like with any other sin), then they are to be executed by the State and there is no Janaazah for them and they are not to be buried in the Muslim graveyard but if they accepted and respected Islam authority as truthful and righteous yet gave in to their lusts then they are still to be executed but under hadd *not because they are Murtad, brother **Lajawab or some other knowledgable Mullah brother correct me here if I'm wrong* but I assume Janaazah is prayed over them by other than the main leader and they are buried with the Muslims and their sins are annuled in the punishment of hadd they recieved in this world.

I agree it has to do with controlling yourself. Everybody has some sort of feeling to do something they shouldn't, don't they? It could be wanting to listen to music while you try not to, it could be anger, it could be food, it could be attraction to someone you should not be attracted to for whatever reason. You have to learn to controll many feelings in your life. Just because you have certain feelings in you, it doesn't mean you have to act them out.
