From the point of view of biology and reproduction, homosexuality seems like a pretty severe dysfunction. Sexuality is, however, conflated with how we socialize. Homosexuality in the western world is much less about sex than it is about identity, and so the rhetoric of rights is what dominates the discourse around homosexuals. Consequently, such biological arguments don’t gain much traction…aside from traditional Catholic doctrine, I don’t think the idea of marriage for procreation holds much currency now days.
This doesn’t hold true for Pakistan or most Muslim societies, so the argument is probably valid in those contexts. I just don’t see how there can be any meeting of minds on this point.
