Also, I don’t understand why people bother arguing with people who are homophobic or get frustrated with their views.

If you want them to follow the ideology of live and let live, shouldn’t you as well?

What if all the animals become homosexuals and perish themselves from the earth? Would you still let them “live” and perish or would you force them to reproduce and to be not homosexuals?
