Sourav Ganguly has been banned for six matches after India fell behind with their over-rate yet again today. The match referee communicated this to the Indian team management, who will announce the squad for the remaining two matches shortly. Rahul Dravid will lead the side in Ganguly's absence.
Ganguly was fined 70% of his match fee at Jamshedpur in the previous game, and has apparently been punished for being a repeat offender.

well india wont face any problem with ganguli's ban.coz till today in this series india is playing with 10 players and foe 6 odi india now will get its 11th contributing player thanks to match refree:D

I guess he deliberately slowed down the over rate becasue he knew that this is the only way to save his face :)

Smart move by Ganguly for deliberate slow run rate, he knew that he is going to be kicked out soon. I guess ban is still better than being dropped from the team.
