Re: gaming pc (expert thread)
Steam? Is that through Mac update? I guess first shooter and racing games might be a good start.
I have upgraded the RAM to 6gb (most it can use from what I have read) but it seems the circle cursors appears a lot especially in flash files; I read that that happens because non-compatible sizes (2 + 4 here) can’t use the dual-architecture, though from what I have read before, it should not be a big deal in macs. I did run the memtest+ and it passed with flying colors so it is not a bad RAM.
Re: gaming pc (expert thread)

BTW if u want to play legally download steam for MAC(pay site)

but buy good games.some devs deserves it
Re: gaming pc (expert thread)
I have GeForce 8600M GT with 256 mb RAM. I guess that is low though the new MBPs are now breaching the 1 Gig mark on the video cards; some people tell me 1 gig is more playing with numbers than anything to do with performance as Macs work fine on below gig cards.
Re: gaming pc (expert thread)
hmmm
at what resolution do u play??
remember 256 version is ddr3 compare 512/1gb which is ddr2.bandwidth is almost double with ddr3.
iam telling this because i had similar card few years back, assuming that u have desktop not lappy.i use to play crysis 1 with low-medium settings with this card @1440x900 resolution.framerates use to be 20-30 fps .crysis is most hardware demanding game
you can almost play every game with low-medium settings @720p.if there is option to upgrade ur mac why don’t you add a cheap 5670.should be around 30-50 dollars
Re: gaming pc (expert thread)
Mbp = MacBook pro, not Macs which are desktops. I doubt ddr3 was even heard of 3 years back.
