I like the fact that even the evil characters are explained in a way that you understand where they are coming from. Like cersei you hate her very gut but understand where her hatred from Robert comes from and why she does what she does.
Okay so I have to ask anyone else wondering when the letter Ned gave to Varys will surface? I think that letter should have some interesting information in it.
Can someone please explain which soap of Ekta Kapoor is nearer to this series... seems its nearer to 'Kahin Kisi Roz' and this aunty Cersei is Ramola Sikand :@:
I think those later books had me so confused that I didn't notice that Jaqen's new face is very similar to the Alchemist's. What do we think is going to be his role in the future narrative? Who is he?
There is no mention of Jaqen in the books later on. So not sure if your reffering to the drama. they might be going on a tangent from the books on this.
I read online that the description of the alchemist (who appears in book 4 first I think) is identical to Jaqen's new face... I have to go back and reread those later books, I think.
I think that the real hero of the story is going to end up being Tyrion. He's evolved the most of any character, going from bitter, selfish and arrogant to humbled, heroic, vengeful, and motivated.
I think he's going to end up as Daenerys's Hand very shortly. I think Littlefinger's plan for Sansa will somehow fall apart terribly (most likely when it becomes known that Tyrion is still at large and so Sansa cannot be remarried) , Sansa will get into trouble, and Tyrion will somehow saver her and win her over.
All the surviving legitimate Targaryens are accounted for. Even if Jon Snow was Rhaegar's surviving "bar steward" (dang GS filters) , it wouldn't give him legitimacy to be part of the family. My prediction for Jon is that he will be one of the leader's of Dany's forces in Westeros, and will end up being rewarded with the lands of some of her enemies, maybe the Iron Islands.
True, tho it is possible that Lyanna and Rhaegar were secretly married. The Targaryan's were into polygamy, right? But yeah, i don't think he'll want the iron throne.

It is strongly implied that Rhaegar imprisoned, brutalised and raped Lyanna, rather than marrying her.
Rhaegar was a good guy ( remember Ser Silmy's words?) . I think they married secretly and when it was probably one of Tywin's men who killed her...he wanted Cersei to be Rhaegar's wife but Rhaegar was in love with someone else (most likely Lyanna).
yes but Rhaeger was already married to elia of Dorna. So the bottom line is Mr martin has alot of possibilities for the next two books. What if the others take over? lol.... anything can happen in this series. I think for now the Others will probably reign in the next book.
Polygamy wasn't a big deal to the Dragon-folk, I think. They married multiple sisters.
Only Robert implies Lyanna's rape. There is only one person still alive who was with Ned when he found Lyanna dying in her tower. That's Howland Reed, and he hasn't appeared himself yet (tho his children have key roles). We don't actually know what happened, but we do know from Ned's dreams/memories that THREE members of the Kingsguard were guarding her (almost half of the Kingsguard). Seems like way too many people to be guarding a regular prisoner, especially when the rest of the royal family is being slaughtered.
Seems like noone has posted in this thread in a long time....
I am on book 4 and it has kind been a drag for me while books 1-3 i devoured in less than a month literally lol
Not to say it's not interesting. It is, but I find it hard to read the parts of "krakens". Theirs have to be the most boring bit in the series.
And try as I might but I just can't seem to find any sympathy for Cersie..I have really started to like Jamie's character now..and Arya is my most favourite character. That is probably because I find myself relating to her so much.
Psyah metioned that this seires is dubbed as "crack on paper". And I must agree. It totally is.
I have found myself analyzing and observing people around me and how they have multi-dimensional properties. It's interesting to see how people surprise you when you least expect them to.
Can't wait to see what happens to all the characters towards the end of the book. I am preparing myself for a lot of tragedies
Lol! I agree... about the 4th book being a drag... my friend warned me before i started reading the series. 4th and 5th for some reason are very boring compared to the first three. Lets see what he does with the other 2. This series is like planning a trip for the mountains and ending up in the desert!
