Bosnia and then later Kosovo were, at the time, still apart of Yugoslavia. Its own government attacked its people. During the 90s, the UN, Nato, the world sat back and watched. Nobody intervened. Muslim men were put into concentration camps while the women were raped. Surely you remember. When it was happening again in Kosovo, for once, Nato intervened. I’m sure the West had its own reasons for intervening, but we were glad that someone stepped up to help for once. I don’t recall Muslim countries lending any support at the time.
Libya’s neighbouring countries are all going down one by one - Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria. None of them are in any position to even comment on Libya given what is going on in their own countries. The difference is that those governments did not use the kind of brutal force Gaddafi used against his people over the past few months.
How can you compare Libya with Bosnia and Kosovo? In Libya, it’s a combination of uprising and struggle for power. No external power has a right to intervene in internal struggles. In Kosovo/Bosnia, there was nothing like that. It was pure genocide on the basis of religion/ethnicity.
