It was in fact his people who turned against him, it wasn’t NATO boots on the ground but the rebels who grew tired of his oppression. Read about the “Five-Point Address” he gave in 1973 and what followed, for the 38 years Libyans have been held down by his thumb through his brutal laws. He had been living on borrowed time for far to long.
