GaDaR

I dont know if this has been discussed before or not but anyone who has seen Gadar knows what I am talking about.

Salman rented the movie and the whole family sat and watched in amazement. The movie starts by showing pakistani as liers and ends with a Pakistani father shooting at his daughter. Although most of the movie is a gray area…meaning that its alot of personal decisions rather then right or wrong, there was way to much anti Paki language in the movie.

I didnt know weather to like the movie, because I have to admit I did cry along with the characters but it was just to biased. I wouldnt approve of a Paki movie doing the same to Indians. The worst part is most of the movie was the director’s opinion.. I mean was he there when Pakistani wrote “kathan humdsay seeko” on that particular train sent to India.. NOOOOO.

In conclusion.. I am tired of sitting here and taking this BS from the media ! Guys is there any way that we can send a combined petition to ZEE TV (the sponsor) and tell them that Paki people prob make up more then 1/2 of thier customers.

GUYS HELP ! ! ! ! I am open to all non violent suggestions…

Lets see 14 visits and no reponses..
I guess we deserve to be walked on

I's still writing letter(s) though !

Write your letter and then stop watching
any freakin idol worshippin movie
if the Indian entertainment business is met
with resistance in unity
maybe they might reconsider the next time
they try to poke fun of our homeland
cuz thas the only way they can

They've already been outlawed in the house.. as a mutual agreement of all the members in the house hold.. not olny movies but also all the indian cable channels.

But realistically speaking how much harm is one household going to do.. its unity that we lack..not only that its very important the people we are boycotting know why we are boycotting them...

I applaud your efforts and I certainly do
understand that one household can not make
a difference
my family too hasn’t watched an indo movie
for the longest time
i simply despised them cuz they always seemed
to be bashing muslims
especially worse is that its our own muslims
who do it too
and whats the last straw… naive pakiz and
muslims worldwide flaunt for those c***suckas
excuse my language
and they pay money which directly goes to
the pepz and their taxes go to fund the indian
army
and thus your cycle goes.

the best thing of the movies is during the first 20 min of the movie ,.... partition thing which is picturised really greatly

i totally agree with u....a lot of indain movies nowadays r portrayin a very bad image of pakis...and we need to do somethin about it...

Just watched it in the cinema the other day. I liked the first half and yes I did cry a bit but the 2nd half was pathetic. Way too much anti-Pakistani dialogue, it’s a movie made for Indian nationalists. They portayed Pakistanis as these radicals and Indians as peace-loving, harmonious people. Even stupider was the fact the he single handedly kills the entire Pakistani army. Gimme a break.

i still have to c this movie...been lyin around somewhere in the house for quiet a while...i'll watch it when i get the time...and then reply here

May your life be like arithmetic...friends added, enemies subtracted...joys multiplied, and sorrows divided...

Glad to see eveyone agrees that the movie is anti paki..
NOW WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO ABOUT IT?

Don't get carried away. We have to realise that Indians are very timid in reality so all this heroic over-compensation in movie world should be seen for what it is.

Just treat it as a comedy and enjoy the show.

hmm let me think about it..

NO..
no comedy at my expense.. timid? I think not..

Muniyaji,
Dont be sentimental. This film is depicting portions of history and to have the desired effects ,may be some portions, have been exaggerated.Thats it.Leave it at that.
Or may be some creative director in Pakistan should come out with a sequel. But I have serious doubts on this.
I do try to watch Pakistani films on UTN,but they are difficult to digest. The story, dialogues delivery, music in most of the films is so pathetic. Please,I am not trying to be critical, thats the reality.(On the contrary,Pakistani serials are superb).

wat do u suggest muniya....wat action could we take ???

Hey I know what all of you can do
Stop Watching them… don’t complain
or whine if you can’t do anything.
Just stop it. Don’t watch them.
Nothing to complain about them.
And you know what…its all of your
faults that this controversy has arisen.
Stop Supportin them!

Muniya, i beg to differ

I watched the movie, and didnot find it anti anything

lets face it no indian will make a movie which shows india bad and pakistan good

vice versa when paks will make a partition movie it will show pakistanis good and indians bad

the fact still remains, such things did take place during the partition
muslims killed sikhs
sikhs killed muslims

everybody raped everybody else
so no one party was innocent and no other party was guilty

ofcourse there were good ppl among them
but like its potrayed in the movie revenge makes one blind

Now coming back to the movie
I fail to see any anti pakistan or anti islam in the movie

they showed both the good and the bad regarding both india and pakistan
you just failed to not see the bad they showed bout india but managed to spring onto some imiginary anti pakistani display

They showed sikhs running after a muslim girl
They showed sikhs not accepting a muslim girl to live in their community

I dont see you ppl shouting anti sikh anti sikh

The director did a wonderful job
he managed to potray the delicate subjects such as the religion waghera very delicately

like they show that the girl keeps on praying even though she marries a sikh
the husband doesnot force the girl to convert

they show sunny saying the kalma and pakistan zindabad
which i am sure didnot register in your lil brains as anti india

Its just a film, deal with it as a film
watch it dont watch it but leave it to that
just entertainment

be mature
I dont see the japs making a big deal bout Pearl Harbor

be civilized, and if you find it offending nobody is forcing you to watch it

but lemme assure this
there are many stories like the one that was shown in the moive that actually did happen in real life

Qaid just got pakistan
he failed to think bout his people, the muslims, the migrants, and their well being
he failed to negotiate the migration of muslims from india to pakistan

himself he traveled in his jet
its the ordinary ppl who paid a heavy price for pakistan

and if for some individual their life is more precious then a piece of land and they do marry under circumstances to save their lives and their izzats then i say thats their decision to make

The story however had a very different concept
They showed the bond of LOVE bw two people which neither religion, nor any country could break

awain main hi jazbaati ho kay fazool main shor macha rahay ho

**They showed sikhs running after a muslim girl
They showed sikhs not accepting a muslim girl to live in their community

I dont see you ppl shouting anti sikh anti sikh **

Thanks Anchal for the great post. I couldn't agree with you more. Btw, did u like the movie?

i just like the english titles of these goofy flicks.

Gadar? shouldnt it be more like "Ghaddaar'?

Anchal Baji...all the sikh motives were justified...Remember the begining of the movie? Clearly said that the Pakistani government through people out of their houses and were the first to send over train fulls of slaughtered sikhs. Unless the director, your or I lived back then I dont think we are educated enough to judge who did what first.

As for PEARL HARBOR, the Japs banned the movie and indeed there was great uproar.

A pakistani director making a movie reversing gadar DOES NOT make the situation right... be it Pakis or Indians we dont have the right to judge anyone...we are not GOD. I mean there are movies like Dil Se who had a similar issue but didnt pin the fault or blame on anyone... the politically correct way to handle things.

Baji as far a being civilized and not watching the movie, if I havent seen the movie how would I know its offensive?

Finally, as far as what I've done...
I've written a letter expressing my concern and mailed it to the sponsor. I know it probably will get trashed but atleast I made an effort. Anyone interested in signing it, I can pull up a copy.

PS Anchal Baji please dont refer to us as your people... we are all of the same human race.

And dont expect me to argue you either.. I call you baji and that wont change..
