future spouse, being Namazi

Re: future spouse, being Namazi

Before looking to marry someone who prays 5x, I’ll motivate my ownself to do it and then look for someone who is that punctual. I want my kids to pray 5x and follow Islam, and in order for that to happen, they need to have parents to look upto and an Islamic lifestyle at home. I don’t think people realize how important namaz is.
My husband is a 6x namazi, even does tahajjud, quran, you name it.. regardless of where we are, I have never seen him miss namaz. He will stand on the sidewalk to pray if he has to, and he has done that many times. Does he attract attention, of course, but does he care, no. And because of that, I feel he has so many blessings, so much success, and so much peace in his life. Anything he wants, he gets it. He never stresses, he never lets anything effect him because he strongly believes in his prayers. You do that when you commit yourself 5x to your creator because that is the way to be close to Allah swt. It is the first thing you will be questioned about when you die and there’s no masghfarat for missing it. And I’d never forgive myself if my kids don’t understand that. I want them to understand the meaning and significance of praying rather than looking at it as something that if you don’t do it, you’re sinning.
I was never regular with my prayers and I’m so ashamed of how many I have missed in my life. But seeing my husband be so punctual with his motivated me. He never forced me to pray 5 times or do hijab or anything. He would ask me to pray and leave it at that. I’d feel bad when I saw him praying alone so I’d go join him and that’s how it started. It brings you closer as a couple more than you can imagine.
