FurQan Reverting to Islam

salaam walia’kum

Yes i have finaly accepted Islam’s challenge to be a good muslim. I was born and raised in a pakistani family where, if i prayed or not it was all upto me. Yes my parents were religious but “i” never bothered prayed or fasting or anything.
To those brothers n sisters who are living in da life of sins, who are taking this life for granted and the one’s who think that this life is all about money and fast cars and dating model chicks…you are totaly lost. i’ve finaly decided to quit smooking, hanging with bad friends, evil deeds…yea i am a bit late in life, but hopefuly god will forgive me for my sins.

I shall no longer concentrate on making large cash amounts cuz it comes added with alot of stress and restlessness, instead i will start a small LEGIT business.

I shall no longer think about finding me a model look alike wife, i will search n settle for a muslim girl who is on the right track and who has the courage to help me learn more things about islam.

I will forget the friends who alwayz led me to evil things. and i shall become more involved in my community and make friends at the mosque who can teach me a bit more about islam also.

I shall quit smooking, music with swear words because these things intoxicate ur mind and lead u to do evil.

Lets make a dua for all ummah..(specially for the ones who are trapped in making too much money living materialistic world, for who want to change)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Ever Merciful

-Our Lord! We have sinned against ourselves, and unless You grant us forgiveness and bestow Your mercy upon us, we shall most certainly be lost (7:23)

-Our Lord! Take us not to task if we forget or fall into error. (2:286)

-Our Lord! Impose not on us that which we have not the strength to bear, grant us forgiveness and have mercy on us. You are our Protector. Help us against those who deny the truth. (2:286)

  • Our Lord! Grant that our spouses and our offspring be a comfort to our eyes, and give us the grace to lead those who are conscious of You. (25:74)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Ever Merciful. All praise belongs to Allah, Lord of all the worlds, Most Gracious, Ever Merciful; Master of Day of Judgement. Thee alone do we worship and Thee alone do we implore for help. Guide us along the right path, the path of those whom Thou has bestowed Thy blessings, those who have not incurred Thy displeasure, and those who have not gone astray.

Ameen

Re: FurQan Reverting to Islam

What’s wrong with having a “model” wife??? :bummer:

Re: FurQan Reverting to Islam

nothing, except that she may not be as “practising” Muslimah

Re: FurQan Reverting to Islam

^ If that's the only criteria you look at, then there's a lot wrong with that :)

Re: FurQan Reverting to Islam

Wa'alaikum Salam Furqan

First thing first, masha'allah good to hear that you decided to return to the path of Islam. With that I pray that may you stay on that path for the rest fo your life, ameen

Keep in mind that we as a muslims get tested by Allah (s.w.t) in soo many ways. The tests are always the kind that we actually can handle and are strong enough to fight against. Allah (s.w.t) never feed you more than your stomach can take it. You had a capacity to return back to the Islam thats why Allah (s.w.t) tested you and guided you. Allah (s.w.t) forgives those who repent and regret from their heart for their bad deeds.

Yes, I agree with you on the point that we as a muslim are not in this world for the materialistic purposes. Our main purpose in this world to worship Allah (s.w.t) and gaining His satisfaction for our better aakhira. Our main life is after death when we are to sent to jannah. (Insha'allah) and for that life we are being test in soo many forms and shapes in this world. Some are tested through families, frens, living, religion and soo many things u name it. And if u think about it, behind all the tests that we get from Allah (s.w.t) have only ONE purpose is to worship and admire HIM ONLY!

From my experience i have learned one thing for sure, that Allah (s.w.t) sure knows how to TWIST HIS people around. He knows when and how we humans remember Him. He indeed knows that once we are away from His zikr, how He will bring us back to Him. He put those in tests who He knows has a lil spot available for Him.

So, my fren cheer up and say ALHAMDULLILAH that you have given a chance in your life (doesnt matter late or early) to praise Allah (s.w.t) and you r willing to stay on a right path.
Our duas are with you, May Allah keep you safe, ameen

Re: FurQan Reverting to Islam

There is absolutely nothing wrong with having a ‘model’ wife. But keep in mind if that ‘model’ wife is not praticing Islam then who will be there to guide and teach your kids on a right path?

just my two cents:)

Re: FurQan Reverting to Islam

Furqan, all the best, insha'Allah. :)

If you don't mind, do share with us some factors that brought you closer to practicing Islam.

Re: FurQan Reverting to Islam

SubhanAllah.

Commendable work :k:

May Allah guide you on the siratul Mustaqeem.

Never take crap from anyone, and always submit to Allah swt. For in his Messenger lies the key to islam. So do whatever his messenger did, and do not question his actions. Thats Sunnah.
Thats Unity.

Especially if someone makes fun of your beard, a million frowns are nothing compared to the smile on your messengers face pbuh

Remember to absorb the right, and Disregard the evil.

Allah have mercy on us all, and guide us in life.

Good job u realized

Re: FurQan Reverting to Islam

Masha Allah..........Jazzaq Allah.

Welldone.

Re: FurQan Reverting to Islam

Furqan its great to see someone attempting to make a positive change in his life.
couple of points though

being in tune with religion does not mean you do not strive for material success, it will give you an increased ability to use your wealth towards good use. Yes your focus should not be on it so much that you live in the here and now and are just chasing money and it takes you away from your obligations to Allah and to people.

as far as hanging out with people, please make sure that you dont abandon your friends whjo do not share in your perspectives and associate only with like minded people at the masjid. By socializing and interacting with people from all different viewpoints not only would you have a more enriching life, but maybe others would learn something from you as well.

Islam is not about extremes, so strike a balance.

Re: FurQan Reverting to Islam

Seriously, did you fail a few classes at college or something recently? You are talking about striving for money as if it is some dozakhi gunnah!
