He is one of my favourites…

The first time I heard him was back in early nineties or late 80’s in a PTV program named Kasht-e-Za’afran …

I have to admit, I am more into urdu poetry and perhaps he’s the only punjabi poet whom I listen and enjoy. I do not speak punjabi but I understand his punjabi very well.. - spontaneous, hilarious, delivery of the words is off the hook… his choice of words is amazingly unbelievable.

I can’t forget his famous sher that I heard in my childhood

Uss kaa rishta naa honay kaa ba’ess uss kaa abba thaa
sub haryaan thaY uss nay aisa abba kahaaN saY labaa thaa

uski borrhi daddi bhi hansay hansay mari jaati hai

jab suhaag ki raat ko chat se paani chonda hai
dulhan ko chor kar dulha maan k pass jaanda hai

PS: AQ are you sure that program was "Ka*sht-e-Za'afran" not "Kisht-e-Za'afran*"

depends on if in your dictionary, the word is "kishti" then it is kisht-e-zaa'fraan and if it is "Kashti" then, it is Kasht-e-Zaa'fraan

I like that too .. Anwer Masood was the first one whom I heard as funny punjabi poet in late 80’s…

listen to his “ajj ki pakaaiye” and “Majh in anarkali” D

But the thread was about Khalid Masood…

PS: I agree that Khalid Masood's poetry is punjabi mixed in urdu. I first had thought that he was more towards Saraaiki but he uses Multani dailect of the language too if I am not wrong.
