As a legal immigrant to 3 countries during my life so far, I have zero tolerance and zero sympathy for illegal. They should all be given a firm kick in the nuts and then turfed out of whatever country they are in.
At the same time, countries need to pay careful attention to the conditions under which asylum seekers are returned to their countries, so as to ensure fewer people are returned to dangerous situations.

I think its really easy for you guys to say to kick those ppl out but its not that simple. A couple of guys talked to our class on wednesday about the new bill and they made some really good points.
Illegal immigrants, no matter what you say, are really important to economies of states like California and Texas. Who do you think works on the farms. There are very few white farmers and Blacks do not want to go back to farms.
Also, America makes tonns of money from the social security money of these illegal immigrants. They provide a SS# when they apply for jobs, its not a real one, but the govt takes the money from their paychecks. And where does that money go? These people never get it back, the govt gets to keep it.
Also, the bill that they are protesting is a bit ridiculous. Anybody who knows a person who turns out to be an illegal immigrant could be penalized thru this law.

Issue is not when these illegal immigrants came into the US. They were coming here during both leftie and rightie governments, and are still pouring thru the borders every day. Fact is, that no government has ever seriously cracked down on illegal immigration, and that includes both republicans and democrats. Also fact is, that Bush, the current Republican President has publicly voiced support for ways to legalize these illegal immigrants. Whe did he do that? Ding ding… yes, you are right… he wants votes. Again, I am not saying that Bush is not responsible for the current dilemma, however, the fact that these "illegals" will have the balls to come out in droves and demand rights (which they do not deserve) is directly attribtable to lefties. Considering legal immigrants spend years going through the painful process of naturalization, it is hard to gather much sympathy for illegal border-crossers who use state programs, it is the republicans' holier than thou attitude that brings a smile to many faces. Neither Republicans nor Democrats are serious about any meaningful immigration reforms. Its a political hot potato.

Passionate, did those two not so enlightened souls mention the burden these illegals put on the border states? Did they mention how Houston's medical cenetr is nearly bankrupt due to these illegals? Did they point out that these illegals get the education for free from public schools and contribute nada to the school districts? I am sure they presented both sides of the story NOT.
