Your DIL just added Tents to its request in NY, I've heard TENTS can not be found in Pakistan, they are already being shipped up but many more are needed.

Please keep in mind these are COLD areas Tents should be sturdy enough to use in the winter cold, with snow.

North Side Muslim Community is organizing a Fundraising Iftar Dinner on this Sunday for Earthquake victims in Pakistan. ICNA Chicago is also participating at this event. The collection will go through ICNA Relief. Dr. Inam Hussain will represent ICNA helping hand and will explain about the relief efforts. Sheikh Faisal Hammouda will raise the fund, Insha'Allah. NEW YORK
Students at Columbia and NYU have been trying to organize events which will raise money for the short term relief needs. We were planning to organize a comedy//music show in a month or so, which would target professionals and students in the area and the proceeds would contribute towards longer term redevelopment needs(which are equally important). We would greatly appreciate your assistance in this regard. We need a group of professionals and students to help organize an event on a larger scale which should generate significant funds towards the redevelopment efforts.

NYU and Columbia PSA students are meeting tomorrow Oct 15th at 2:00 pm around the NYU campus to discuss ideas and organize. We are planning to meet at 1:00 pm at the following address to get started on the planning

CHICAGO:At Univerity of Illinois-Chicago
10/17/05-10/21/05

UIC MSA will be teaming up with the Pakistani Students
Association and other UIC organizations next week to raise
funds for the Earthquake Relief.

There are several ways you can get involved.
1.Please go through your closets and collect all the clothing you can. Bring
it by and drop it off at the UIC MSA offices located in 475 and 472 in 3rd
Floor South (Third floor by the Sbarro's). You can also drop off clothing at
Iftaar.

  1. The Pakistani Students Assocation has also come up with the brilliant
    them of "Heart of Gold" and will be giving out gold ribbons to those
    individuals who donate money towards the relief effort. If you are
    interested in helping out making the ribbons stop by the Montgomer Ward Art
    Lounge on the 2nd floor of SCE (Formerly CCC).

  2. There will be booths setup all week next week
    to collect funds. Alhamdulillah in one day we were able to raise almost
    $800! We do need people to man the booths, so if you have any time please
    stop by the booth located in the CCC concourse infront of the revolving
    doors and bookstore in SCE (CCC).

All money that is collected will be donated to Islamic Relief as they have
relief crews on the scene in the affected areas.

We Mashallah collected 85,000 dollars in 2 hours at this fund raising dinner today. Senior representatives from the Jewish community, USA Government, Democrats and Pakistani community were present at the dinner. As expected, there was not even one single Arab present at this dinner.
