For example , I make it with Oranges, half a mango, apple, banana, chopped dates, Boiled Channa’s and then finally half cup mango juice added to it along with chaat masala …
undoubtedly, i make the bestest chaat ever!..i swear! seriously!!! want the recipe? i know you do but i’m sorry i don’t follow any recipes…it’s just my God-given andaaza that works ALL the time for me! i’ll be happy to come over to your house for an iftaar and make it there for you!
Replace mango juice with tang dissolved into little water sometime. Or add orange juice in place of mango juice. How I make fruit chaat is basically cut up all the fruits available, add sugar, chaat masala. Pineapple syrup also does well to add into the chaat. I do add tang dissolved in water if tang is available. A little juicy chaat tastes better, to me.
I never put mangos or mango juice in fruit chat.
I use Apple, bananas, guava(if in season), Pomegranate seeds (if in season) and green grapes. Sprinkle couple of table spoons of sugar on the cut fruit then add chat masala , freshly grounded black pepper and salt to taste. Lastly I squeeze fresh orange juice or use the bottled one with pulp. Mix everything and let the fruit marinate in citrus for 3 or more hours..
Best fruit chat ever. Ohh and if you desire you can add handful of boiled chickpeas to give it a Lahori twist.
i usually cut up any fruit i have on hand (apples, bananas, pear, peach, mango, grapes, blueberries, strawberries, kiwi)
add some fruit juice (i prefer the dole ones like mango peach banana, orange strawberry, etc- the mixed ones) or you can add plain mango juice, orange juice, pineapple juice, etc.
i make fruit chaat with appels, banana, pear, mango, peach, nectarines, grapes, strawberries and fresh orange juice, as that keeps the apples from being brown after a while. i dont like to put any kind of masala's or sugars as fruit is already sweet.
I cut up all the fruits available and chopped dates. I then add a couple of tablespoons of mango pulp - not juice. Then a tiny sprinkle of chart masala, SO good :)
When we were little My grandma use the chop up all the fruits and add some sugar, chart masala and then KETCHUP!! Yeah ketchup! We were like yuk but it was actually delicious. We started to make it that way until recently when we discovered mango pulp
