Fruit Chaat

Re: Fruit Chaat

Sugar helps in preventing the oxidization of fruit.
It counter some what tart flavor of apples and pomegranate.
It helps in marinating the fruit to get soft texture.
Most importantly suger with citrus creates fruit syrup which is an important part of fruit chat.

Re: Fruit Chaat

That makes sense bebo…

While I’m not averse to different combinations, I guess fruit chaat is one thing I haven’t learned to like.

Fruit salad/regular fruits on the other hand.. :k:

Re: Fruit Chaat

our everyday fruit chaat during ramzan;

Bananas, apples, grapes, nectarines, pears, pomegranate all cut into cubes added to a bowl of orange juice mixed with lemon juice, guava juice, black pepper powder. And mix!

Re: Fruit Chaat

I can't stand fruit chaat with mangoes or melon pieces. They totally ruin the taste. I also can't eat fruit chaat without apples or other types of crunchy fruit.

Re: Fruit Chaat

Am I the only one who puts imli in my chaat? I chop up whatever fruit is on hand, and then in a jar, mix a couple of spoons of imli paste, sugar, lemon juice, chaat masala. Shake it up and pour it on

Re: Fruit Chaat

It ain't a fruit chaat without bananas and oranges for me. And dates too. We dice em up and mix em in the chaat; gives it a nice texture. It's incomplete without it.

Re: Fruit Chaat

I put a bit of sugar. My fruit chaat needs to have "anaar".

My sister in law puts honey.

Apples
Bananas
Pear
Guava
Anaar
Orange Juice

Re: Fruit Chaat

I am so tired of fruit chaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat…every single iftar I go to has fruit chaat and its alwaysssssssss the same.

:hinna:

SO…I only make chaat with melons…otherwise it ain’t happening.

Honeydew
Cantaloupe
Watermelon

For seasoning, you can use sugar and black pepper.

And if you feel up to it…mint and/or walnuts/feta cheese.

Re: Fruit Chaat

I came up with a variant this yr. Only mangoes and peaches cut in cubes and 2 3 tble spoon condensed milk over it. tastes yumm!!
