Re: From Rasoi ghar to Kitchen

tiffin = luch
tiffing = to take luch

in India/Pakistan

tiffing = midday lunch

yeah…it’s an elaborate system of home-made lunches to offices…on time delivery is the guarantee…

…they use public transportation and delivery persons are usually illiterate so they came up with a marking scheme like dhobis in India use…they put marks on the tiffing carriers and never make a mistake.

Dhobi’s system is amazing too…they have a unique mark for each and every family they serve…these marks used to be put on permanent ink on the inside of the shirts’ collars and at nefas of paijaamas…in kurtas, it used to show and that was horrible…looked like you were a marked man :rotfl:

Re: From Rasoi ghar to Kitchen

Madaani - wooden hand blender. Most commonly used for making lassi. My Mum and people in Punjab traditionally use madaani to blend saag.
