From Kabul to Alabama

This past Saturday, we were invited to Roy’s Bar Mitzvah (my younger son’s buddy from pre-school days) in Great Neck, Long Island. Roy was adopted by Rachel (an Afghan Jew whose parents went to Israel in the early 50’s) and Joel (an upper east side Jew of German ancestry). The service in the Synagogue was so much fun, seeing a confident little 13 year old deliver prayers in Hebrew and give a speech with such a charm and wit (Jews are funny) that it was really moving. After the religious service, there was a big party of some 100 people. Family and friends.

Roy is an adopted child of Rachel and Joel. His birthparents are from Alabama… he is pink in color with blond hair.

What was so touching was when Rachel presented Roy a present on his Bar Mitzvah. It was a Torah that was passed on to his grandfather by his great grandfather. His grand father brought that Torah from Kabul Afghanistan to Israel when he immigrated there in the 50s. It was old, but still in pretty good shape.

They don’t have great Museums like the Romans, Greeks, Egyptians (but they have museums), they don’t have a lot of worldly processions, and their gift to the world is intellectual.

Re: From Kabul to Alabama

a touching story. I am having koOnday and you all are invited.

Re: From Kabul to Alabama

Thinks about adopting a Jewish boy - and plans on turning him into a Muslim...

Re: From Kabul to Alabama

The destruction that these mullahtooo talibans did is unbelievable. I mean the two statues and the destruction in Bamiyan was very sad and I am not even talking about people that these savages killed. I am sure they destroyed other stuff as well. These illiterate literates would burn a Koran in english thinking it was bible or torah.

Re: From Kabul to Alabama

what if you fail in converting him and he grows up and marries a muslim girl and produces a whole family ? :-p

Re: From Kabul to Alabama

^^ I would love to opine but emotions of certain muslims seem to run high.

Re: From Kabul to Alabama

Then I shall either send him to Madhanees house or Israel. I’ll give him the option. (Anyway if I fail to convert him, the Muslim girl will. I’m optimistic.)

I would have liked to hear that. I have had the honor of attending one such Jewish event, and it sounded so mesmerizing.

Re: From Kabul to Alabama

madhanee is a pervert why would u want yout kid abused :-/

Re: From Kabul to Alabama

Sheikh Saab I am going ina tangent here..but I have never heard of Afghan jews ..what is there origin?

Re: From Kabul to Alabama

Madhanee, touching story of passing on the Torah indeed. I could hear the words of Allah echoing in my ears. How moving.

Re: From Kabul to Alabama

I wonder if Rachel and Joel will ever say a smilar thing "seeing a confident little 13 year old deliver prayers in Arabic and recite Quran in such a melodic voice". Sometimes I wonder how politically correct do you have to be to profess, encourgae, advertise other's religion and not worry about your own. Just a thought.

Verizon, drestroying statues is certainly better than killing innocent 13 to 14 year old boys with tanks...isn't it?

Re: From Kabul to Alabama

^^ Absolutely not, killing innocents (like Hazarajat Shiites in afghanistan) and destroying property are both not cool, in the verizon's book of love.

Re: From Kabul to Alabama

Jews are indeed a gift of god to the world. they have single handedly saved humanity from a lifelong misery of intellectual darkness. All of us need ot ensure that these people are protected and encouraged in bringing knowledge for the next 5000 yrs. Amen!!

Re: From Kabul to Alabama

^ Yes. Let there be more Jews women bearing childeren. And if Jew men are too busy reciting Torah then let me be the first to volunteer on the name of enlightened humanity.

Re: From Kabul to Alabama

OK Verizon, do you need me to spell it out or attach some pictures for your viewing pleasure. Jews have killed, ridicule, abuse and torture thousands of palestanians. They continue to do so under the watchful eye of US (and us; as in we the people of United States).

PD, you are right. Rats always need protection to survive for tow reasons. 1) Generally people do not like them, so they are liable to get squashed.2) They cannot stay away from the cheese and being their own destruction by continually setting off the trap.

Re: From Kabul to Alabama

Amen Roman! Girls named Sarah are perfect.

Kaleem, what you are talking about re: rats are actually jihadis.

Jews have given humanity music, literature, sciences, art, movies..etc..etc.. JIhadis have given humanity nothing but terror. Q.E.D

Re: From Kabul to Alabama

Kaleem perhaps a day will come when one of your beautiful offspring marries a young Jewish man (or girl if she is a lesbian) and you can be part of the Jewish celebrations that you look at with such admiration.

Re: From Kabul to Alabama

PD, no argument there (regarding Jihadis).
UTD, I have no problem with Jews, what I find utterly amazing is that people bending over backwards to promote diversity and inclusion of jews. Madhanee believes that diversity and inclusion is beautiful, it may be, however, have you seen any jew make an effort to understand Islam? Write something positive for a change? I dont know if Madhanee has ever invited his jewish brethern to attend an Islamic ceromoney for his boys? (Haqeeqa come sto mind). When was the last time you saw a piece describing such sentiments regarding Muslims? Let me be more specific... Have you ever written anything close to what Madhanee wrote regarding Muslims?

Re: From Kabul to Alabama

Zakk, didn't you hear of the last jews under the Taliban rule.

Re: From Kabul to Alabama

Tsk Tsk. I still am missing the pictures of jews beheading innocent palestinians held hostage against their will. Oh then again maybe there are no innocent palestinians. Then again I did vew a lot of pictures by palestinians killing other palestinians (because they sided with Israelis to have a better life).
