Friend in trouble again with wife.
I have no idea why this is an issue for an outside person. To the point that a thread is started because it is bothering them so much. I personally feel its unusual that OP is even contemplating and thinking about his friend and his wife's problems to this extent... And on another note this is hardly an issue. It's a marriage and and a husband and wife discuss/argue/negotiate about these things... So what?
Re: Friend in trouble again with wife.
hijab is farz looking good for ur wife is farz beard is sunnah simple
this.
A husband should look good for his wife, and a wife should look good for her husband. If she doesn't like the beard, he should do what she likes. If he doesn't like the hijab.... well it doesn't matter cus Allah asks us to wear it so :P

Exactly Allah asked us to wear hijab if beard was so important it the Quran would have said something about it

actually the ayat in Quran about female dressing isn't specific and open to interpretation. So using the argument that hijab is more important than beard because its in Quran is baseless. He can very well ask his wife to just wear a dupatta or chadar if she were to use that argument.
marriage is about give and you can't force your view on another person and say like it or lump it. Even worse using poorly researched religious arguments to base your smug but wrong assumptions on.

Do you know what the Quran says about hijab then?
Re: Friend in trouble again with wife.
I guess she should have just expressed her opinion by saying something like 'i think a more trimmed beard will suit you, what do u think?' And then whatever his response would have been she should have respected it. In this case if the husband is not comfy with a trimmed beard then he shouldn't and let the wife say whatever she wants....she will calm down eventually.
Re: Friend in trouble again with wife.
I saw him this morning, now he has nicely trimmed beard.
Problem solved. Please close the thread.
Re: Friend in trouble again with wife.
Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam)said: "Act contrary to the polythesists, trim closely the moustache and grow the beard." - Reported by Ibn Umar (R.A.) in Muslim, Hadith no. 500
its upto the individual if they follow the sunnah or not but the style of beard is prescribed so you cant keep disco beards and claim that its sunnah.
That's great, except that hadith does not say how to style the beard. Do we do the jagged style Junaid Jamshed gorilla beard that frays with frizz in the wind? Do we do the Kanye West Style trim along the jaw line? Something more in the middle? 1 inch, 2 inch, 3 inch, 10 inches, or we just try to match the size of the male organ so the men can puff around and show their alpha male-ness to each other to attract more women, like animals?

let the beard "flow" what do you think that means? its said to trim moustache closely but not beard. according to most sahaba beards were at least a fist length. dnt be so lazy you can easily find the info on the net with even the most cursory research. and no need for being so aggressive i am just sharing the information from hadith if you have a problem with that, its none of my concern
