Re: Friend in trouble again with wife.

maybe she is wanting to give him the fancy the shaving kit for Eid muberak, but now she is having to go back to the mall :-/

Re: Friend in trouble again with wife.

The shape and style is dictated by Sunnah.

Re: Friend in trouble again with wife.

Nope it's not. That's just totalitarian, the religion doesn't put that much restriction on anyone. We create these issues for ourselves.

Re: Friend in trouble again with wife.

PCG,

Have you ever read/heard where it said "one who resemble other is not from us".? I agree with you that keeping beard is 'Sunnah' not 'Fard', but i differ with you from here that our beloved Prophet said "If you love me then follow me, Almighty Allah loves You'. So following Him PBUH is to do the same as what He PBUH did and in that keeping beard is included.

Sirf Qur'an parhnay se kuch nahi hota, us pr amal karny se hota hy :)

P.S. no offense meant.

Re: Friend in trouble again with wife.

It's funny our people are more worried about sunnah and less a about Farz. Farz is keeping your wife happy with you and keeping the marriage going. You forget those basic principles then grow all the beards you want, I personally have no respect for that sort of Muslim.

Op's wife is not asking him to shave it off, she is asking him to trim it and keep it neat. Sue her for not wanting to sleep with a gorilla or have her husband show up to work appearing poorly groomed. That does nothing for our ummah, sorry, except make it look like we are a lazy bunch.

Re: Friend in trouble again with wife.

Cool down PCG :mirch:

If one who follow sunnah that means he’s neglecting the farz? From where u came up with this? I never heard before. Mind to tell in detail, plz.

Re: Friend in trouble again with wife.

LKK pai, do you has beards? is it trimmed?

Re: Friend in trouble again with wife.

Queer pai, will check n gonna let u knw

Re: Friend in trouble again with wife.

LKK there are two things. One is 'Ita'at e Rasool' and other is 'Itti'ba e rasool'. The first one is compulsory but the other one is not. The second one is the difficult stage to ideolise the personality of Prophet and try to copy him in all walks of life.

Re: Friend in trouble again with wife.

Shouldn't the wife also try to follow in the footsteps of the wives of the Prophet and the Sahaba?

Re: Friend in trouble again with wife.

wtf is a shuttlecock burqa?? a burqa that you play badminton with?

Redesigning the Afghan Burqa (cont’d) at suz@itp

Re: Friend in trouble again with wife.

Mere bhai, both leads towards Almighty Allah.

'Ita'at' done when a person is among us and 'Itti'ba' when that isn't among us.

We found difficulties when we indulge ourselves more and more in this worldly affairs :)

Re: Friend in trouble again with wife.

hijab is farz
looking good for ur wife is farz
beard is sunnah
simple

Re: Friend in trouble again with wife.

Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam)said: "Act contrary to the polythesists, trim closely the moustache and grow the beard."
- Reported by Ibn Umar (R.A.) in Muslim, Hadith no. 500

its upto the individual if they follow the sunnah or not but the style of beard is prescribed so you cant keep disco beards and claim that its sunnah.

Re: Friend in trouble again with wife.

OP its for your friend to resolve with his wife i dnt c how discussing with third/fourth parties would help. maybe he should trim it and let her get used to it? a sudden change may be difficult for her to adjust to
