I have seen this thing.. like on fridayz …people are rushing towards mosques with such enthusiasm…even those who do not pray even single namaz on regular basis… (i am not here to judge ) i mean, do we get food , oxygen, and all things on fridays only … i mean .. whats so special about fridays… is there something very holy about friday… or do we become very pure from inside that day and remain dumb on other days…

Cuz friday is Juma-tul-mubarik

It is easy to show the enthusiasm for one day in a week

One month in a year.

Atleast some people are doing it, praying to God asking forgiveness, But look at yourself sitting infront of computer wasting time and asking dumb questions

yesh .....yeh to sochne wali bat hai.din to sab hi mubarik hain .oor namaz bhi sare dinon main farz hai.

I once tried to pursue a non-muslim friend of mine to convert to Islam. Overall he was very familiar with the religion, and his answer to me was, "If you can get as many people to come to Fajar namaaz as the amount of people who come to Jummah, I will convert without any hesitations.

^ same thing happened to me. I once tried tried to convert a muslim friend of mine to chaltahaism…he said “if you can get as many people to come to a bar as you have going to the mosque, I will”. I did…and he did. mashallah…he is still such a devout chaltahist even after all these years.

I thot this was gonna be a thread about Thank goodness it’s Friday and the weekends here!! So I will make it that

I just got my first paycheck yesterday. NYstate took $6, the check cashing place took a dollar fifty and Ammi took $10, just as she took my bro’s first $10… she hasn’t spent those ten bucks yet and it’s been 8 yrs or so… she keeps it for sentimental value This leaves me wiht enough money for a nan which Ammi jee and I will split at Kabab King today. THey have the best nans though the broken tables and flies buzzing around are a killer

some people who never pray.. think one prayer on Jumma is equal to all prayers in the week..

well you do get extra sawab for praying in a jaamaat format vs. on your own. Who knows, that wudu they do for jumma prayer wipes out all their sins during the week :)

It is the same thing w/ Ramadan too Barbs. People will pray 5 times a day during Ramadan and even go for Taraweeh but they will quit right around Eid.

Jumma *has 2 extra *Farz** unlike other days Zuhr...those extra Farz *should be prayed with **jama'at*...thus at mosques...

PS: Jumma also provides some socical gatherings...meetings...activities and contacts...

PS1: Sometimes people use post-jumma prayers as protest or strikes...

besides the very valid and very true concerns you raised about if only jummah is fardh and not daily 5 prayers, I want to make a note of following point:

actually answer to that is YES. There are atleast two ahaadeeth that I can recall little bit for Jummah.

1- one is about Friday being the best day after Eid day.

2- Second one about the blackening of heart of the person who misses three consecutive Jummuah prayers intentionally.

having said that I agree with you that although Jummuah has a special place in our lives, it is sin not to pray other fardh prayers as well as not performing other faraaidh of life.

Allah:swt: says only about Jummah prayer in Quran in Surah AL Jummah:

62:9 O ye who believe! When the call is proclaimed to prayer on Friday (the Day of Assembly), hasten earnestly to the Remembrance of Allah, and leave off business (and traffic): That is best for you if ye but knew!

and ALLAH:swt: knows best. May He guide all of us. Aameen.
