Should there be any boundaries or one should be allowed to say whatever he feels like saying or doing?
IMO the freedom of expression ends when it crosses the limit of decency/morals and respect for other’s opinion/belief. Also on a larger canvas, it ends when interests/well being of a larger group is at stake. A nudist may claim to pratice his freedom of expression when visiting diseny land, but would it be moral to let him express his freedom?

what property rights! Property ownership is not a divine right of the owner if we go with argument that there should not be any boundaries. How about public places then? The nudist has equal right to express himself as any other person, the "no boundaries" argument infact allows him to do whatever he feels like doing.

I agree with Xeno completely ... Freedom of speach is our right , but with freedom comes responsibility .. when one is enjoying the freedom but ignoring the responsibility and shows indecent behaviour in any way , or endangers the great good , then that person's right to freedom of speach should be taken away until he learns to use it responsibly.

I am all for freedom of speech - No hold barred.
Freedom of expression in any other way - I have my reservations.

There is no difference. Speech is a medium of expression nothing else, and it's not just about VOCAL expression. Arts and litrature also falls under freedom of speech.

So what is your take on Satanic verses & Danish cartoons then? Do you believe that they had a right to express their feelings via this medium? How about Nazi litrature and white superiority movements like KKK? Don't you think that they also have a right to promote their hatred?

What's freedom of speech is just a license to unfurl your tongue and make a mess out of it. Target anyone, with whatever u want. That's freedom of speech to me really. And there's no such thing as freedom... entirely.
I would go for the freedom to discover, recover, uncover and then display/reveal ... the TRUTH only. Speech is only going to make things worse if u have total freedom and u know u can abuse this.

Both of these are not asking you to go out and start killing people or look down on them, in fact both are exclusively work of fiction. and have been declared such.
KKK and white superiority is whole different ball game, as they intice people to be voilent against a certain faction. If KKK was making just fun of people then its Ok, killing people on race superiority is wrong from every angle. Same as talibans are spreading hate. By saying this I definately am not saying that American are doing any good.

No, Light bearer is right, when the whole cartoon thing happened, I actually found the way Muslims were behaving in response to them more offensive than the cartoons themselves. Especially the twerp who help the placard "Kill those who say Islam is a violent religion", i mean wtf?

How about inciting to kill and hate speeches? Is it safe to say that according to this line of argument UNTILL someone gets killed or any drastic action is taken by some fanatic, it is ok to ridicule and make fun of a certain group of people?
This only means that you have higher than average tolerance, which is good thing, BUT remember that when adopting a social model or marking boundaries for what is acceptable and what is not, we always keep MAJORITY's wellbeing/feelings in mind and mould model accordingly.

A stupidity which leads to harm, should always be avoided...
But then, the torch bearer should be condemned which leads to inflammation of tires and property and as such. If only 'the open minded' wouldn't have started.

Of course, you are right that some people also behaved very inappropriately, and this was suppose to happen, but then, you might just think for a while, why the west is always so keen on degrading our ideologies… every now and then. Using those mischievous techniques?
