So those of you who ride the subway in NYC, I’m sure you must have noticed the new signs up, advertising free condoms. And of course it’s come under criticism from the Catholic leagues, and in my opinion, rightfully so. Bloomberg defends the decision to put up these ads because peoples lives need to be saved. Errr yeah.
What do you think of these new advertisements, and the thinking behind it? I used to be in favor of the sex-ed taught in schools, educating young students on STDs and AIDS and the different methods to prevent pregnancy. But in the last year or so I’m cmoing around to abstinence-only education [which discourages pre/extramarital sex and promotes marriage/monogamous relationships].
Personally I think if someone’s in dire need of FREE condoms, they really should not BE having sex. But of course the thinking here is that it’s OK to sleep with as many ppl as you want, as long as you “protect” yourself and your partner At what point has it become perfectly normal and even good, that people cant control themselves?
They had these people from some health clinic come in to our high school last year and have a talk with kids about abstaining from premarital sex or atleast using protection…and then at the end they passed out free condoms to the students. hahahahha. stupid.
Ppl (especially young'ns) are going to have sex no matter what, whether they have ghubara/sathi or not, may as well provide them and prevent unwanted pregnancies and the spread of AIDs/STDs in society..
Abstinence education will only make sex more "forbidden fruit" and therefore more appealing to young'ns... It might work with Muslims because religion is reason to abstain but ppl are not going to abstain just ecause some lowsy nurse or teacher tells them..
These Catholic can be as stupid and annoying as our Mullahs sometimes...
^ But passing out free condoms is only putting a band-aid on a wound....we should be trying to prevent that wound from ever occurring, i.e., convince them that premarital/extra marital/multiple sexual partners is wrong to begin with.
The whole "sex is a natural/biological need, it's equal to hunger and thirst" is absolute CRAP, so the "having sex no matter what" argument is kinda moot..
I think we need to do the same in Pak, if we can't afford free condoms then at least teach ppl safe forms of sex.. and those that can buy condoms need telling that condoms aren't just for preventing pregnancy.. We need a AIDs/STD awareness programme in Pak..
To a Non-Muslim it is the most delightful and wonderful thing in the whole wide world (I kind of see their point actually) and to tell them to abstain from it just because you consider it to be wrong, immoral, slutty and dirty before marriage will have no weight in their eyes, I'm sorry but that's just your opinion and scaring them with a 1/100 chance of getting something lethal shant put them off eiter, especially if the person you are trying to convince is in their early-mid teens, my God I was so randy back then, heck I was when I was 8-9 but maybe I was just special..
Maybe you'll convince a Muslim with religious evidence but not a Non-Muslim... I was talking to a gora, he asked me what was the most pleasurable thing in the world for me, I was in a religious mood so I said "Prayer", he says to me "no no surely it's sex", after a bit of arguing I said "there is nothing more serene, blissful and peaceful than protrating before Allah Almighty, it's the best position one can be in" he just laughed in my face and said "no it's not, doggy is".. My point is these people live for sex, for pleasures of the flesh, you can't deny them that because it is all they have for recreation, it is all they have for solace... A Muslim will get spiritual satisfaction out of abstinence and hope for reward, Non-Muslims will tell you that's just a load of bollocks..

Hey don't blame all non-muslims about sex. In Hinduism there are concepts of conceiving without even sexual intercourse..one can find such explanations in vedic texts. Modern society basically is full of pleasure products irrespective of religion.
Upper half of the body, above navel is associated with..spirituality
lower half.. hot pursuit of sex that''s where everybody is focussing his/her energy.
Sigmund Freud stated that sex is always on the mind of a man...true sex is a state of mind, but mind can be controlled to think in a spiritual way, i.e. take it above navel.
Try searching google for one of his famous paintings "What is on a man's mind". It's marriage and understanding of relations which regulate sexual behaviour of a person otherwise there is no difference between humans and animals. Of course there exceptions can be found everywhere.
