My dad hates to see sausages in house. He alwasy comments , ooee, eh ki kuttey khanda piya eeN, though i always say, Dad these are chicken
Re: Franks/Sausages
hahaha,
we had these glasses that shape like wine glasses. once I served water in them to my bil's father. He refused to drink from it saying 'yeah kiyaa aap sharab ke piyaalay mian mujhay pani de rahai hain" .. he said it in such a sweet way, I really liked it.
But they are sausages
You shouldn’t be serving those glasses as those are specifically for wine :wine:
Re: Franks/Sausages
half of the desi restaurants serve water in those glasses.
Re: Franks/Sausages
Ugh, I hate to see sausages in the house also. I cannot disassociate the sight of sausages with the memory of trays of pork sausages in school dinners, which I always tried to avoid.
Wine glasses I LOVE... but my dad doesn't drink out of them either.
Strangely there are lots of restaurants in Pakistan that serve soft drinks in wine glasses without ppl being upset.
May be they think that it is fashionable to do so . ![]()
Re: Franks/Sausages
back in the day people in ottoman empire used to drink alcohol in katoras also..so there.
aray bhai, glass is a glass..its not as if you dont drink from it these companies will stop making them and then people will have nothing to drink alcoholic drinks in. and whether you get a regular glass or a flute or a goblet dunn matter, same company gets the money.
I enjoy a good cup of tea in my beer mug, pint 'o tea..
Re: Franks/Sausages
^ How much tea do u drink?
I love wine glasses, they r so nice to drink out of. My friend saw some of mine and loved them too, so she got some, then her husband told her off, asking why she brought "sharabi glasses" into the house. lol.
Re: Franks/Sausages
ummm a cup or two, but its usually green tea with hot water, no sugar milk or anything, sometimes a few drops of lemon
anyhoo, some alcoholic drinks are served in regular glasses as well, so long island ice tea for example, or short tumblers are used for scotch. but yeah lets boycott anything with a stem..
Re: Franks/Sausages
I dont like sausages too
cause the 1st time I saw it someone called it “hot dog” ![]()
Re: Franks/Sausages
I eat sausages....albeit halal ones.
I have normal wine glasses, red wine glasses, which are wider and taller. Champagne flutes. Cocktail/Martini glasses. Hurricane glasses. Margarita glasses. Pint glasses. And then every household has hi-ball tumblers and Scotch glasses.
It's only glass.
If i have a dinner party, i like serving mocktails and juices in different glassware. It looks pretty and it's a nice change from your bog standard hi-ball tumbler.
Re: Franks/Sausages
maroush, they work well for desserts too..we often do desserts in martini glasses :)
I like sausages but am very wary of the nitrates because of the strong connections to them with cancer, known carcinogens and all, so get ones without nitrates
PS: desis was it hard to say "very wary" properly? just checking :)
Re: Franks/Sausages
Yep, i make an awesome tiramisu in the super large wine glasses and other layered desserts in the hurricane glasses. I once even made chocolate sundaes for the girls and i in the pint glasses cos i couldn’t remember where i put the proper sundae glasses. ![]()
@ very wary… ok i’m going to stop laughing, that’s mean.
