Four Wives

I've formulated my life on Raymond's quote.

make sure it doesnt ring too loud, you'l get an ear ache.

PyariCgudia don't know who Raymond is, but i think the guy makes sense, although when did anybody state having a wife is/was a problem? Don't you wish to grow up and be a wifey one day too? afterall it's what we women are put on earth for, to be wives.

Note...take this comment as sarcasm at your own will.

Raymond: a character on a popular TV show called "Everybody Loves Raymond." Its about a sportswriter from Long Island, Ray Barone who lives with his wife and three kids across the street from his childhood home, where his parents and brother still reside. Show is based on the life of comedian Ray Romano. :)

sister? is she an ABCD too?

So girls that are raised abroad (define abroad for me please) are less likey to be "khavand keh neechay"? Are they Khavand keh upar? (pardon my urdu, im unpar)

I dont particually have much knowlegde in the ups and downs of husbands and wives, but all of the pakistani woman i know, never ever shut up and put up with anything!! My male cousins are more afraid of their Pakistani wives than they are of god!
[/QUOTE]

No she is not an ABCD but loves to shop for shoes, and has probably more shoes than Emelda Marcos.

Abroad= Outside Pakistan (in this particular post this is what I refer to).

Generally speaking or maybe I am being stereotypical, but I have noticed that desi girls that were raised, and grew outside, tend to be more dominating (once again from my experience in meeting /dealing etc).

What I meant by upar neechay was dominate/be dominated.
I hear you on incessant yapping capabilities by our women folk (they should be in guiness record book).

I know two families in Pakistan that have multiple wives. Father has two wives and the daughters husband has two wives. It is quite complicated I must say. The fathers wife 1 (daughters mother) refuses to meet the other. She is ok with the kid coming to their house. But they
(wives) refuse to meet each other on social events. This complicates things since if a person has a function he can only invite one or the other not both (it just gets complicated). So in this setup obviously the wives live in different houses. On to the fathers daughter.
In her case the husband has forced that they live together in the same house. I only know the wife 1 (fathers daughter) and she has to put up with it. She doesnt like it and every chance she gets she makes sure that other wive gets in trouble (pAnga Lainay wali baat). By trouble I mean she will tell her that the husband said it was ok to go and spend on clothes etc.. I had never seen the daughters other half till recently.

From a humanistic point of view it was hurtful to see that someone has to share her husband with another woman. It was the way she spoke "Daikhi a Eh meri Doooji Maa Ya^%$, Idi meh Latan Toran, Behn Ch&^%" and then she came they both politely smiled and went their merry way yapping, eating dinner.

Edit: Get the picture I mean I am sure that other one does the same, so you have competition going on etc. Oh and I agree with Raymond I'd rather zina than put up with another one (I am kidding, i'd never cheat on my wife).

nobody has more shoes than me :snooty:

desi girls raised outside tend to be more dominating? hahahhaha
thats a good one, im not talking about the “yapping” abilities of pakistani woman, most of my sister in laws are proper scary, and i mean real scary. They cannot tolerate anyting, first sign of any sort of trouble and their calling mummy daddy for help. My sister married an FOB -is that an opposite to ABCD? and she does everything he says, he wont even allow her to cut her hair!!

It doesn’t matter where you’v been raised, it depends on how you’v been raised and how much compromise one is willing to endure once married.

^^ whats FOB. I agree it is about how you are raised.

of course you agree with me...im right, im always right. :)

^^ OK.
"of course you agree with me...im right, im always right."
Whatever floats your boat.

FOB - is a degrading term for people not up to date on the culture which is an abbreviation for (Fresh Of the Boat.)
meaning you still carry your sense of fashion from your country which clashes with the current countries cultures.

Don't use the word FOB again. It's indeed very offensive.

Re: Four Wives

But I don’t think any man will do that for no reason… There have to be something bad in the girl that he is marryin someone else… :konfused:

afterall it's what we women are put on earth for, to be wives.

Why do people keep saying this? No, that is not what we were put on the earth for. That is like saying man was put on the earth to be a husband. That's utter garbage. We were put on this earth as humans and why we were put on this earth - there are probably many reasons for that. Not just to be someone's wife.

Good grief. If that was why I was put on this earth, then I'd like to have my bhulaawa now.
