if 4 guys are open minded enough to be one woman's husbands then why wouldn't they be open minded enough to see all the kids in the big happy family as their own whether they are or aren't the biological father........plus the woman they love and care about is the mother of those children that should be enough reason for them to love all the kids

It is as simple that Allah allow Man to have 4 Wives at the same time but did not allow women to have more than 1 at the same time.

Why you people don't understand.
This rule is not from any Man
This rule is from Allah.

Islam states that a man can have upto 4 wives WITH the permission of his previous wife. A lot of uneducated men take versus from the quran and translate them to suit themsleves :mad: If men struggle to financialy look after one wife with children how can he even think of marry another three lol

I have never saw a family with more then one wife happy, but saw a lot of happy families with only one wife. I heard our Prophet (PBUH) would leave home due to infighting of his wives.

Whatever happen to OP..I guess she had enough, prolly never comeback...

crown, i might be wrong but i remember they don't need the permission of the first wife, that is something pakistani laws require but i thought according to the quran all they need to do is provide equal treatment and financial security/a house for each wife. it would be great if you provide a reference from a good scholar

no too many south asians have more than one spouse even if it's allowed by religion/culture so why are people stressing out about this topic of multiple spouses so much

You did not understand Islam will. It is Pakistani Law to take permission from previous wife, not be Islam. This law is only in Pakistan and Bangladesh made in 1961 by Ayub Khan. This law is not in any other Islamic Country.
Islam put the max number should not be more than 4. As you have n number of slave girls then only 1 wife is more than enough.

Humans practiced polygyny (multiple wives) for thousands of years. This makes perfect sense as one man can impregnate multiple women, and more babies can be born. In times when many newborns died shortly after birth, and people rarely lived to what we consider to be middle age, having lots of children was very important. Combine this with a communal living arrangement (multiple families living together), and you also have the benefit of security.

A woman with multiple husbands is less efficient for several reasons. The men won't know whose child is whose (in the days before genetic testing), and fewer children will be born. The woman may even die in childbirth, a fairly common occurrence. Paternal issues are a major reason for why virginity was prized in women, and why men still consider fidelity to be a very important issue. Men being tricked into raising children that aren't their own is still a fairly common occurrence.

When I make the points above, I'm referring to societies that lived thousands of years ago, which has led us to evolve to the state we are now. So yes, now, women might be able to have multiple husbands nowadays, but humans (particularly men) have evolved in the opposite direction. If polygamy is allowed, the biggest, strongest, wealthiest men will not want to share their wives. Why would they, when they can monopolize all the desirable women?

As many have stated theres nothing realy to worry about how many men can actually marry more than one women and keep them equal :hoonh:

SHUT UP!!!.. I have respect for Islamic Law.. There is nothing wrong with having creative scenarios. I am not promoting the idea, rather, it would be nice to send awareness to men how painful this step is towards women.

Allah allowed man to marry to more than 1 woman (given he fulfills strict terms & conditions) but did not allow woman to do so. The buck stops here for me.

After this only "why" can be answered and not "what if"

Four marriage policy serves a purpose in Islam but it doesn't exist in reality. Men are tempted to get married to another woman for sexual intentions.
