Allah allowed man to marry to more than 1 woman (given he fulfills strict terms & conditions) but did not allow woman to do so. The buck stops here for me.

After this only “why” can be answered and not “what if”

Four marriage policy serves a purpose in Islam but it doesn’t exist in reality. Men are tempted to get married to another woman for sexual intentions.
